I can very easily see Pittsburg taking Carlos in a deal for Giles and Kendall. Then they could very easily trade Lee to a team looking for a good bat (LA?) for a couple of decent prospects.

If Rowand plays as our starting CF'er next year, I see him hitting a solid .280 He's better than people are giving him credit for, IMO.

We've definitely been a lot more solid defensively this year than in years past. It's been good to see that.

I'd love to see Robbie get his 3000th hit in a Sox uniform ....... at Cleveland ..... with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the 9th of a one run game. LOL

Porzio has pitched relatively well in his two starts for the Sox. So far, it appears that he can hold down that 5 slot.

I'm not sure about that. But he did have two different broken wrist injuries, so combined, it very well could be close to a whole season.

Frank missed 2001, sure. But Bagwell missed some rather large chunks of playing time with a couple of broken wrists in years past.

Speaking of great throws, the one Maggs made from RF foul territory against Cleveland was awesome.... even if it was a shade too late. That was impressive!

Koch can be used, for now, like Jason suggested we use any of the September call ups. He might actually get his s*** together before Sept and become useful again.

We could move Giles to LF next year, and let Rowand/Harris handle CF. Aaron Rowand is going to be a good ballplayer, mark my words on that.

We don't need prospects right now. We need proven quality major leaguers.

If we are in a tight pennant race come September, we shouldn't be "giving" anyone any shots.

I'm not real happy about the idea of trading Lee. I think he is a quality ballplayer now, and that he can get better. But to pick up Brian Giles, put him in CF and move Everett to LF.... Hell yes, I'd do it.

I agree with you on Jiminez too. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a long time,..... too long. I'm glad that dude is out of here.

We also need a very solid LH hitter. Giles can play center, and probably will with Pitt now that Lofton is gone.

The way the Pirates are shipping talent out of town, he'd probably give it serious consideration.

You are right, LDF. Gordon has done that a few times this year. But that's about it from our bullpen in that situation.

If that was the only move we made, yes it would. If it opened the door for us to use Colon's salary base to pay some other quality players, then no.
