Buehrle for Edmonds: An emphatic NO! ..... Even on the surface, the upside of adding Edmonds doesn't outway the downside of losing Buehrle. Then you factor in money, age, etc... Nope, if KW does this he should be castrated. Rowand for Borowski: Again no. Borowski is nothing more than a journeyman pitcher that happens to be having an effective period in his career right now. I don't look for it to last long. AR is, contrary to the opinion of others, not chopped liver.

Does the name "Dave Nicholson" ever come to anybody's mind when you think about Borchard?
-
Willis is going to be remembered like Mark Fidrych and Fernando Valenzuela, Pitchers to come out of nowhere and dominate for at least one season.

With a moronic post like that(not yours!), you just have to consider the source. That has to be some juvenile delinquent New Englander..... or his father!

I can answer this question in two words. Domes suck.

Yes, he has. He shouls be at least over .500 instead of one game under.

I said almost exactly the same thing in another thread a few minutes ago. Sorry, it was an unintentional copywrite infringement.

If they get a big enough lead, a swoon wont matter. This sox team isnt capable of winning 10 or 12 in a row. Which was exactly my point. In 2000, we used a huge first half to build up a lead in the division that was so big that we couldn't blow it, unless we were the Detroit Tigers. As late in the year as August 1, we were 11.5 up on Cleveland. If you blow an 11.5 game lead in two months....then you are really s***ty. In other words, the 1995 Angels were really s***ty If the Royals get a double digit game lead at any point in the year....they'll win it. The biggest problem is, the twins and sox give the royals a little more confidence with each passing day. Losing 3 of 4 to the rays and tigers is unacceptable. Not only is it unacceptable, it's embarassing!

The Sox are doing what they always do... play down to level of their competition. It's been going on for 3 years, now.

You're running this thing, so whatever you want to do is cool. personally, it would help me because I'm usually sleeping at game time. However, I joined knowing I'd have that handicap. But, I have a question. How does the rule work regarding you can't pick the same player more than once in any one week. Is that a calendar week, sunday thru saturday, or is it if you pick a player on Wednesday, you cannot do it again before the next Wednesday?

Damn! My secret is out! Oh YAS.. we always knew you were Mensa! And you, my dear, are still "doable". I'm certainly smart enough to know that.

I've added about 100 votes for Frank tonight. Keep plugging guys, he deserves to be there.

What's funny is that the Cubs wanted to upgrade at third base, and let Bill Mueller go. Now he's hitting about .330 for Boston. And the Cubs try and fail to get the guy Mueller replaced. Sweet irony indeed!

Give 'em hell. But, most important, stay safe.

Great, Lou is Blonde (Devil Rays YNOT Results)

By my calculations I should have got 8 points, but I'm not on the list. Did I break some rule I'm not aware of? -
The 5 inning rule is waived in the ASG. I remember Steve Stone starting and pitching 3 perfect innings the year he won his Cy Young. Never saw anyone pitch more than 3.
-
Pedro was trying to win the division in the first inning.
-
You don't always have to give a 3-0 take because that pitch can also be a get me over fastball down the middle of the plate. You'd never give the take sign 3-1 because then it's a full count and you have to now protect the plate and your chance of striking out rises greatly because you will be expanding your zone. 3-1 and 2-0 pitches are the best pitches to hit in baseball If I have a weak hitter up, and the opposing pitcher is having trouble finding the plate, I would not hesitate to give a 3-1 take sign with the bases loaded. This way you have the pitcher throw 2 strikes in a pressure situation.

Graffinino, Harris, Miles, Hummel, Yan ..... I think 2nd base is set up for the next few years. Jiminez was not the answer there. That is for sure. I was high on him at first, but I saw enough of his lazy, no baseball smarts type game to last me a long time. Good riddance as far as I am concerned.
