Sideshowapu has finally said something I agree with. I, too, have been concerned about the possibility of this situation and our gov't making "1984" a reality. When it comes right down to it, I don't really trust any of them.

I haven't read this whole thread. I just wanted to say the anti-war protesters in the 60's and 70's actually stopped the Viet Nam War. They actually turned public sentiment against the war. I do not approve, in any way, shape or form, of them spitting on our troops and calling them baby killers. I which our home coming troops would have stomped their asses into the ground right then and there. However, these people do have the right to protest, and sometimes being a public nucience (sp?) is the only way to get real attention. They shouldn't endanger anybody. Those men and women are over there fighting today, and as they do so, they are defending our way of life, which includes the right to peacably assemble and the freedom of speech. I don't want those rights taken from me, and I won't deny any US citizen the same rights. I may not agree with what they are saying, but I thank God they have those rights.

Garland was rushed up to the majors... hes held his own... hes just begining his career... erstad has injuy concrens. we wouldnt have dished out the money to resign him.... the trade would have made our staff even worse... I agree. But we now have proof that Garland can cut it in the majors. Last spring, we really didn't know. That's why I was unsure of this deal. As of now, I'm very glad the deal didn't go down.

From what I have read, the only question on the roster is livo vs Paul. Miles and Burke will be sent down and Harris will make the team, which for the life of me, I don't understand.

Harris hasn't impressed me in any area other than speed... but you can't steal 1st base. I'd like to see Miles make the club, but I don't ever recall hearing anyone refer to him as a CF'er.

If you are coming south through Illinois, you'll have to drive right by me. However, after thinking about it, you'll probably go through Indiana and take I-65 on down.

I'll tell you guys... I like this team also. I think Rowand will do just fine in CF this year. He'll be a good solid player. And yes, our depth seems to be really impressive. If our stars can stay off DL, we should be a damn good ball team.

Sorry folks... I've been away for a couple of days. The point I was trying to make is that, though ticket sales are up.... whatever the reason.... the Sox payroll is down from last year, and is also below the Twins payroll this year. We had the chance to pick up Rogers, but JR would let KW do it... so the Twins got him. I wish he'd give KW about $20 million more for the budgeted payroll and see what he can do with it. We have a good young nucleus of talent here, and just once I wish JR would his GM just go for it.

I have an idea .... why don't Maggs, PK, Valentin, Crede, etc. just have monster years and the team be 30 games above .500 at the break, so they could not be ignored in the baseball world. Whaddya think?

I think I need to clarify my statement. Some of you, I know, felt and believed Rauch would perform well enough to earn the slot and if he did then he should have it. However, others insisted that based on 2 good starts at the end of last season, that Rauch should have the slot given to him. I always stated that the one who performs best should win out. I apologize if my remarks were intrepreted in a different manner tha I intended.

Wright is scheduled to throw on the side Saturday, take a day off Sunday and pitch against Colorado on Monday.

Well, I picked quite a few upsets as I have Kentucky, Duke Miss St and Maryland in the final four. I had to pick KY to win it all though. I live there and would have been shot for treason had I not. LOL .... Another upset I picked is WKU over the Fighting Illini.

Bulls***! France and the people of France have been anti-American since the end of WWII. The resent the fact they the world doesn't revolve around France as it did in various times throughout history. It has nothing to do with them not being our puppet. It has everything to do with those rows upon rows of white crosses over there and those bastards being resentful that we had to save their asses.

Actually, I have read that the high Iraqi official they targeted was Saddam himself. No comment has been made as to whether it was successful or not. That speech Saddam gave could have been taped beforehand, as there was nothing to pinpoint the time it was actually given. No references to any direct events that happened today/tonight over there.
