  1. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Feb 25, 2004 -> 07:11 PM) One word: "HOOTIE" I'm planning on seeing them when they come into town September 10th..
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) Steve....thats Thibault in your Avy correct???? I know I'm not Steve, but, it's Ed Belfour...
  3. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) I think you all will be surprised what Chicago does. The playing field will be much more level then ever before. Chicago will be right there for the playoffs this year. AND... the Florida Panthers WILL make the playoffs (barring injury, etc). Mr. Keenan has some crap up his sleeve. That's all I will say about that team. I hope you're right kap, but I think the playoffs are definitely in reach of the hawks...
  4. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) ioh so quick to be rude Who started the sig bashing? EDIT: and WTF is ioh?
  5. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) people's champ, awesome sig Yep, awesome enough to have spelled Robin incorrectly.
  6. One more thing, isnt Forsberg playing in Sweden next year anyway? I thought i remember seeing that somewhere.
  7. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) Well it will be interesting to see what the Blackhawks do. Knowing their history, they will be cheapskates. As for my dream scenario, it would be the Hawks draft Sidney Crosby, then sign the likes of Marcus Naslund/Peter Forsberg to put on a line with Tuomo Ruutu. It worries me, however, that there is such a wide range in salary cap. The minimum is 21 million, with a max at 38 million. Something tells me Wirtz will keep the Blackhawks below 30 million. The max contract a team can offer is 7.5 million, so these two players are certainly possibilities. Either way, its going to suck when I come back down to Earth and see the Hawks signing Mark Janssens again. The Hawks payroll will be somewhere between 30-35 mil, and a Top Defenseman and Top Scorer will be signed. Besides, Janssens wasnt signed to be a top liner, he was signed for a 3rd line faceoff man... Have faith in Tallon, he wants to succeed.
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) I'll stick with some good grunge... Soundgarden is in my playlist right now. Enjoy your Phish/DMB/John Mayer wussy weed-music, though. I'm happy for you! No problem, this wussy weed fan is gonna be at Tom Petty, Motley Crue, Flogging Molly, Reel Big Fish, Coldplay, and the Anger Management Tour, so I'll enjoy those wussy weed bands too!
  9. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) i always tell myself to stay out of dave matthews fights...but whatever... dave matthews is either on par or worse than george michael or boy george...and at least those two would make people laugh and cringe instead of just the latter... dammit...all i came into to do was to say i wanted chavez more than anyone in a dream sequence...and you guys had to draw me into a dave matthews fight. And that's your opinion, good for you, I disagree. But you didnt have the nerve to attack my sig/ avatar. So I dont care that you dont like DMB, no big deal.
  10. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) Tell Dave to get his drummer playing the way we all know he CAN play again. That man is a monster back there, and is easily one of the best working, but he never shows it in the studio anymore. No doubt about it, he has a bajillion drums on his set, he should go back to using them all again. But really, my Dream Aqcuisition would have to Miggy Cabrera as well, he can play 3B!!!
  11. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Ummm...but you DO have a Top 40 artist on there. My fault, I meant main-stream pop, you know, B-96 Kiss 103.5 BS, the artists with little talent... good catch Kid, thanks
  12. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Okay, i just thought of this...(if this happens) good move by the NHL to announce it today. Nothing going on in the sports world. Only day in the year that it is so (i consider the HR derby enough to fill monday). Maybe it will get more than 2 mins on SC, etc. And though the NHL has hurt me a lot, i'll be coming right back because i'm just too big of a fan. Hockey's in my blood, i just love the game. I may not go to as many games (though ticket prices are hopefully down), but i'll be following just the same. I'm a rarity, probably. But i cannot at all fault those of you who may not be into it as much after this lockout. What the hell, everything that I wanted to say was already said. You seem to beat me to it every time IlliniKrush
  13. He was just out there havin fun, you saw him smile and chuckle a little when the pitching coach came out there. Good for Jon, not giving up any runs, I wouldnt look to much into it.
  14. QUOTE(ISF @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) I'm pissed a guy that is suspended gave up the AL's shutout. Yeah, Kenny Rogers :fyou
  15. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) oh i didnt mean that the sig looked bad, it looks bad ass... i was just ripping on the whole dave matthews part. and the ncaa cover just makes no damn sense I'm SOOO sorry that our musical tastes differ. Should I put a Top-40 artist on there instead and change the title. Incase you didm't know, genius, "The Best of What's Around" is a song by Dave Matthews Band and I thought it went well with Mark Buehrle. Next time maybe I'll put one with George Michael or Boy George on there so it'll make you happy.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) Jose 777 if we have all 28 others suddenly quit you would not even crack the top 100 to join.
  17. Another thing Steve, Black Sox and Spiff actually worked for awhile on my sig and avatar so maybe you should take that up with them too...
  18. I think youre taking this the wrong way. I didnt put it that clearly. Scotty is not a flashy player that you would find in a typical all star game. That's what I meant. He doesnt have much pop, isn't a very good fielder, and is best when he can disrupt a game with his speed on the basepaths. Not a typical all-star type player.
  19. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 11:12 PM) whats up with the bad avatar and the worse sig? Pardon me? Are you trying to be funny? or make a point?
  20. I'm just happy another White Sox made it. and I'm sure Scotty feels the same way. Its tough to use a player with out any offensive production in an all-star game. OBP doesnt mean much to the managers.

    Al's Beef

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) I've tasted beef from around Chicago, and I must represent my hometown in voting for Pop's; located off 127th and Harlem Ave. in Palos Heights. If your house is within several miles of this place I recommend stopping by sometime. Every week I stop in with a buddy for lunch. Plus you cant beat the prices. Pops also gets my vote!
  22. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Simmons is yet another ESPN guy who roots for either BoSox or NYY. His opinion on this matter means nothing to me. He's from Boston, and hates the Yanks. My favorite part of the Mag. Even though I dont agree with him, its still kinda funny about the James Baldwin award...
  23. Am I the only one who saw Crash?? That movie has one of the best endings I've ever seen...
