  2. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) I'm stunned Uribe isn't getting more props for the play he made in the 9th to force extra innings. What a throw, man, what a throw!! Juan Uribe, YES!!!
  3. Awww, Keith, happy B-Day, what'd the hall of famer get ya??
  4. First off, IlliniKrush , that was perfect. Second, Rex, you must not watch too many games, because there arent many "goons" who go around picking fights. That's not why fighting is part of the game. Players usually know how detrimental it is to have a player in the box. the fights usually occur for a reason, not just for the hell of it "hey i think I'll punch this asshole in the face." It doesnt work like that. Hockey is a great game, and those of you who think that fighting happens just for the hell of it are dead wrong, usually.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) All I needed to hear was one quote, and it really turned my stomach. "All of those people who think we are all just spoiled millionaires, well, you are all just jealous." I dont know how that could have been hatcheted and cut up by ESPN, and he clearly stated that they are spoiled millionaires with that quote. We all know that they are all spoiled millionairres,ownership, management, players, ALL of them. But at least the management keeps it at the bargaining table. Roenick is too involved in discussions and talks to be making statements as controversial and heated as they were. And then when the heat is turned on he wants to blame ESPN? f*** hockey. That's from a person who likes anything competitive but hockey. So if you're so anti hockey why would that even turn your stomach? Basically what I'm saying is, for someone so against hockey, you probably wouldnt notice the hard work JR and players like him have put up with. See him get hit in the face with a 90+ MPH slap shot and then come back a week later. Really, kyle, keep the "f*** hockey" out of here, this is from someone who has actually watched the game.

    QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) "Elephant Child born to local woman" -Family Guy
  7. QUOTE(kane0730 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) I'm actually more worried about Cleveland. They are finally starting to hit. I'm worried about them because when they do hit, the win games in bunches.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) White Sox > Blue Jays therefore, Buehrle > Halladay. Although that is true, doesn't anybody think that Halladay being a former Cy Young winner will factor into the decision?
  9. That was taken out of context. It's not the right thing to say, but the media made it sound even worse than it is, like he is anti-fans.
  10. This is absolutely amazing
  11. Hammerhead, maybe this is just me, but I dont personally think JKidd is a legend. I agree though about comparing players to proven stars.
  12. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) She looks like she chews on rocks.
  13. Law and Order, Seinfeld, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, The Shield, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Baseball Tonight.
  14. When is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory supposed to come out, I can't wait for that because the one with Gene Wilder is one of my favorite movies.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) He's going strickly by past performance and reprutation. That's f***ing stupid the All-Star game is supposed to recognize the best players of the current season, not what they did in past seasons. I can't believe he has Mariano Rivera on the All-Star team, Gleeman has lost a lot of respect from me, not that I had much for him to begin with. Thats absolute bulls***, since when is the All Star game supposed to be based on reputation? Should Giambi be an All-Star because he's a former MVP? It's stupid, Randy Johnson's numbers are average right now and Garland is way more deserving than three of those guys.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) I'm curious to know how many people on here who b**** about hockey have actually gone to (at least) two games? It takes a couple of games to get the rules down and what not, and after that, I think in terms of a team sport, there's none better. It has action, the agility, skill, endurance, speed, finesse, and good hard nosed activity all wrapped up in one. If you don't know the rules, it sucks. If you watch it on tv, you miss a LOT. I get the feeling that most who b**** on here have only watched on tv, or been to only one or two games and are too impatient to appreciate what they were watching. kapko, that could not have been said any better. All the people that dont understand hockey right away are usually the ones going, "Oh this sucks, its so boring." In my mind, as much as I love baseball, it is just as boring as NBA basketball when on TV. However, I dont say that it sucks because I love watching it and will watch as many games as I can all the way through.
  17. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) :headshake Kids these days. The original George Pal version is a friggin' classic man, absolute classic! No way, too much over the top romance in that movie. I like classics like Shane and what not, but the acting just wasn't up to par.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) I agree. I can watch certain teams -- the Bulls, for example, were really fun to watch this year, and the NBA Finals were good as hell. But, other than that, the NBA is boring. To me, at least, and I know most people will disagree. But, there's no comparison between playoff hockey and playoff basketball. Playoff hockey is so friggin' exciting, even if I'm not a fan of either team. To increase the fanbase, when it comes back, they gotta crack down on all of the guys who are clutching and holding. Obstruction, I believe it's called (I'm not so great with the penalty terms). They also gotta crack down on all the stickwork. People say that the NHL needs to rid itself of fighting, yet, I can't remember seeing someone being severely injured in a fight. All of the severe injuries come from cheapshots, ala the Burtuzzi shot -- that wasn't a fight, that was a bulls*** cheapshot. I'd also like to see the redline removed from the two-line pass -- as well as the smaller goalie pads. They need to get a deal done. Losing another season would really be a downer, as the 'Hawks finally have a plan and have stuck it out -- Bell, Calder, Arny, and Ruutu are going to be the base of this team, and they're going to let them go through their growing pains. You knew I would read this so I make sure you get a decent game or two in our season ticket plan huh?
  19. :headshake :puke QUOTE(wdson01 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) he has been clutch and fun to watch
  20. I think I'll see it because I had to suffer through the original in my Information Media class 2nd semester and I might as well see the Speilberg version.
  21. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) swang? I thought the same thing lol
  22. Yeah, he is actually saying that he's starting to hit the ball to LF alot more and that his power to the opposite field are improving. Besides AJ that's something that I've seen alot in Iguchi lately and yes even Crede may be starting to do the same.
  23. Surprising nobody said David Terrell or Brian Knight, both sucked with the Bears.
