QUOTE(qwerty @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) The money was not as big of an issue in my opinion as that third year was. You just don't hand out a three year deal to a player of his age that has had some health problems in the last few years. Is it me or is Vizquel's range limited also compared to Uribe? I'm not seeing the same Omar as when he was with the Indians 3+ years ago.

QUOTE(Fotop @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) LOL, it went completely over my head...mostly because I don't know what to expect out of people around here. But good show w/the sarcasm there. Same here, lol my bad...

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) where is the goddamn choice for Willie Harris?!?!? Come on!!!! :banghead Green?

I agree with Rock, Uribe's arm is just outstanding and he's got pretty good range, Ozuna just doesn't really match up.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 31, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) I agree as well. I love the Simpsons new seasons until about 3-4 years ago. Now it's really bad. They changed the whole style of the show and it comes off to smart for its own good. The episodes surrounding Lisa make me want to puke, they're just way too preachy and annoying

QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ May 30, 2005 -> 11:00 AM) Queens of the Stoneage-Lullabies to Paralyze 4 Just curious, are you going to see them play Friday at the Q101 block party? Theyre playing with Hot Hot Heat and Interpol, I know I'll be there

QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 31, 2005 -> 05:43 AM) Yep...Timo can play Rightfield AND Centerfield!! A true definition of utility player! Nice job Timo, but I still think you f***ing suck and have no business being on this team.

QUOTE(soxman35 @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) Why dont we use B Mac as a Long Releaver pitcher Are those guys responsible for putting leaves on fake plants? Sorry for the lame joke... Seriously though, McCarthy is a STARTER, putting him in long relief is not the best thing IMO for a potentially spectacular SP. He needs to continue to get his work in AAA and if the Sox need a relief pitcher I have confidence that KW will go out and do whats best for the club.

Peter Gammons also LOVED the Byung Hyun Kim deal to Boston a few years ago, it was supposed to be the move to help solidify the 'pen. IDK I dont dislike him but sometimes I think :fyou Gammons.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Personally, I think Danny Glover is a better X's and O's guy. HAHA But seriously, Ozzie is still learning the craft of managerial work, but to call him one of the greatest is basically absurd. He's IMO still in the middle/lower portion of MLB managers, especially after his spectacular job today.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) Exactly. And I will go with The Shot. As Marv Albert would say, "YES" The shot was just sick, I remember watching that game on TV when I was younger... -
do you think Garland will win over 20 game
Pauly8509CWS replied to soxman35's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) I love Jon as much as the next guy, but 20 wins is not gonna happen. Maybe for Mark in the future, but not Jon. That's how i feel on this, I still don't think Garland has IT, whatever he needs to win the close ones or the big games. I think 17 is about as high as it will go, and if the offense doesnt get better we're looking at 15-16 wins with LOTS of no decisions... Hopefully I'm wrong -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Yes, Timo had a big hit. He still sucks. It's funny, we were the only ones who booed Timo his 2nd plate appearance, and were stunned when he put the ball in play. All that was heard were TIMO chants, and how "clutch" Timo is. :headshake
-
I booed the s*** out of him both times he was announced to the plate, and after the game fans pointed at me and gave me "I told ya sos" but bottom line, Timo Perez doesnt not belong on an MLB roster, unless of course he's on a different AL Central roster

FSN, which really has nothing might want them.

QUOTE(drowninginflame @ May 28, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) I don't care who come to the sox as long as they fill in some holes.
-
I really like Aubrey Huff but if it costs McCarthy and Anderson like DBAHO said, then forget it. However he would be a great addition to this White Sox lineup. That said, KW may need to make a move for a solid bat in the few months.

This makes me sad as a hockey fan, but what it does mean is that hopefully if a new deal is signed elsewhere that the games shown arent strictly Avs/Red Wings/Dallas Stars/ NJ Devils games. Those were the big 4 of ESPN hockey and hardly and other decent teams were shown. However, this is very disappointing. :fyou Bettman/Goodenow

Wolves Back In The Calder Cup Finals!
Pauly8509CWS replied to The Critic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(The Critic @ May 27, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) He also had cups of coffee in Boston and Tampa and couldn't last there either. He's a career minor-leaguer and a damn good one at that. The Blackhawks would slap the Wolves around in a 7-game series, for sure. If and when the NHL reopens for business, Corvo, Bouwmeester and Lehtonen wouldn't be with the Wolves for sure, and some other guys like Hawgood might get an NHL job as well. Corvo and Bouwmeester both had set positions in LA and Florida, Lehtonen would definitely start in ATL but would be a league average at best until he gets some seasoning. Bottom line, the Wolves game is a family show, with a hockey game going on. Blackhawks games are hockey games, with no shows... -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 27, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) Anyone know our realistic chances of getting Todd Helton or Adam Dunn? Seriously though, it would take ALOT more than I think Kenny would give up. After one of my finals CWSGuy and I argued with a few people about how good Adam Dunn really is. He was compared by CWSGuy to "Barry Bonds Jr." I don't think either move IS realistic at all.

Wolves Back In The Calder Cup Finals!
Pauly8509CWS replied to The Critic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 27, 2005 -> 05:42 PM) Like Pauly said, most of the guys on the Wolves are guys who can't make it in the NHL. They have a couple nice players, Bouwmeester and Kari Lehtonen -- I think they have one or two others, but you're kidding yourself if you think they could beat the Hawks, as bad as the Hawks are... Bouwmeester isnt really on the Wolves, he's on load from the Florida Panthers' affiliate. But come on, prospects for prospects the Norfolk Ads are more talented and NHL ready than the Wolves. Coburn the young kid on D, the top pick by the Thrashers in 03 couldnt hold Seabrook/Vandermeer/Barkers hockey bag... Lehtonen is barely NHL ready he would have been an AVERAGE goaltender this year, there is no comparison to these two teams. -
Wolves Back In The Calder Cup Finals!
Pauly8509CWS replied to The Critic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Again, I hope you guys are joking because the heralded Steve Maltais couldn't cut it in the NHL. He played half a season with Columbus and was worse than a 4th liner. The game would be dominated by the Hawks. -

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ May 25, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) Seniors set alarm clocks to go off at 2 minute intervals after they left for the day (locked in their lockers of course) so the afternoon was spent listening to about 270+ alarms going off. Seniors also took these motorized balls attached to fake squirrels and let them loose in the hallways. They were numbered, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6. They purposely excluded 3 so the staff would spend the afternoon trying to find it. Well next year I might have to try that.... :finger Administration
