QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) So is it just me, or was anyone else sitting there watching the last seconds of this game and imagining seeing the ChiSox running out to the pitcher's mound some time late this October? My sentiments exactly -
QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 08:53 AM) I really, really, really want to try the Nike Barefoot shoes--but don't want to drop the money for them. I think those are *awesome.* I didn't like them at all when I had them on, I ended up switching to Nike Impax Running. I just didnt think the Barefoots were comfortable.

Juan Pierre is on the trading block
Pauly8509CWS replied to Southside hitmen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) I agree Pierre is having an offseason but he has batted over 300 the last 2 seasons with over 40 stolen bases... Think our defense in the OF PodsLF PierreCF Rowand RF Our defense would have one and a half arms. Arow can throw, and the other two have noodle arms. The range would be good, but runners wouldnt think twice about taking another base on Pierre's and Pods' arm. -
Tallon named GM of Blackhawks

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Tallon is on Tribune Live and saying he will be his own man and make his own deals. Of course they have Mike North on there and is getting after Tallon about Pully and Wirtz...you can tell Tallon is getting pissed at North with his questions. This is one time I can't disagree with North because he was asking the questions a lot of Hawk Fans have.... The thing about that is, Mike North knows absolutely nothing about hockey, and for him to interview or even talk about the Blackhawks is stupid. I'm sure he was badgering him about Wirtz and what not, but Mike North doesnt know jack s*** and I want him to go back to selling hot dogs. -

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) PS Tallon kept ALL of Sutter's coaches. Only Sutter is gone. It's tough to fire a legend in Savard, and they just hired Bruce Cassidy so it's not very surprising. -
He looks like the Six Flags guy that dances around...

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:57 AM) Would anyone recommend any of the following: Schoolyard Heroes Shout out Louds the Go! Team I'm into the Shout Out Louds, a very good promising band from Scandanavia. Highly recommended.

The bottom line here is, we needed a table setter in Pods. We got him knowing that our best eye at the plate was going to be out until June. Pods is disruptive at the plate (pitchers don't want to walk him or let him get on more so than anyone else in the line up) and on the basepaths. This is something that helped change the face of this team. On the side though, I personally dont think he is a very good OF. No arm and just makes me cringe the way he shuffles his feet before a flyball comes down.

Jeez, I've been saying this stuff all throughout the lockout threads, and FINALLY some people are hopping back aboard. -
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) I don't like the 19 age limit. I'm waiting out a few girls' 18th birthdays. Wait, what are you guys talking about?

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Big Deal Squirtz and Pullme are still running the show and its the same ol same ol like with Mike Smith and others before Tallon. I'm gonna disagree on this one. Tallon has an idea of what we need in Chicago and I think this team is in for a bit of a turnaround. -
Don Henley and Stevie Nicks kicked ass yesterday. Well Henley did, Nicks is just strange. Mostly Eagles stuff from him and nothing like an encore of Desperado, which got me thinking of Seinfeld lol. But free tickets made this show even better.

LOL did you see the domination on the site??, The Widge is beating Barret!!!!

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) I'm so geeked about this summer's big concerts. I'm gonna see The Black Crowes and Tom Petty, at both Summerfest in Milwaukee and at the Tweeter Center in Tinley. Also going to Lollapalooza, 2 days in Grant Park. Also try to get into the clubs once a week for smaller shows. I can't wait For Tom Petty. That show should kick ass, the weird thing is my GRANDMA bought me the tickets
-
Anyway anyone has a picture of that? I know that's a stretch but I kinda want to see that.
-
I'm going to quite a few this summer. I'm seeing Don Henley/Stevie Nicks tomorrow night. Tom Petty in July, Dave Matthews Band again in Wisconsin in July, Jack Johnson in August. And hopefully Alkaline Trio tonight. I would see Jimmy Buffett but the whole Wrigley thing scared me off.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) All things considered--contracts, age, etc--Felix Hernandez, Johan Santana, Jeremy Bonderman, Jake Peavy, Doc Halladay, Ben Sheets. Felix Hernandez most likely will be good, but he is unproven so I'm not sure about that one.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) Totally agree that Hatteberg would be a great fit. Not extremely versatile but he'd be a good bat off the bench and obviously could spell Konerko. He can hit and he's got a good eye at the plate. He's what the Sox need. The good eye at the plate especially, coming off the bench and seeing good pitches and giving himself a chance to get on or move the runners over. I like Hatteberg but I think he may make 3-4 mil. which I think is too much for him. Not sure on that but, without money figured in I wouldn't mind him in Silver and Black.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Peavy, Santana, Halladay, Sheets That's it, that's all no more no less those are the 4.

SALARY CAP AGREED ON FOR NHL!
Pauly8509CWS replied to kapkomet's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) They have never been a strong offensive team - their game has been defense - that's how they got to the finals a few years back. It's tough to be defensive oriented when the top D-men are all aging veterans like Hedican, Wesley and Ward. Just not the type of players who can go for 82 games and be expected to hold opponents to 2 or less a game. Especially with Gerber in the nets. -

Pauly8509CWS replied to kapkomet's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
The Canes are an average at best team, not to get on Queen's bad side, but Martin Gerber is not a good goalie. The offense will struggle except for maybe Eric Staal and a healthy Brind'Amour. -
Thanks alot guys, let's get a W against the Dodgers tonite, that would make the day complete .
