  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) How many true dictatorships are there left in world? I don't know much about sub-Saharan Africa, but I'm guessing they have a few. There is still alot. Africa has a bigger problem with warlords right now.
  2. I'm suprised Kim Jong-il didn't just invite them people back and then kill them. I wonder how far off a country like North Korea is from revolution. I think they have a while. He's got that country on lock down.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 07:46 AM) My wife's grandfather was an orphan who was separated from his family when he was 2. He spent his entire childhood in an orphanage in rural Tennessee. Back then they would not tell you anything about your family. So he spent decades trying to track down the brother and sister he vaguely remembered. While in some small town in Texas, while in his early 60's he is standing in line as some random gas station while the guy in front of him is writing a check. He looks over the guys shoulder and sees that the guys last name is the same. He strikes up a conversation and figures out that this is his brother he hasn't seen for over 60 years. The two brothers and the sister get together a few months later for the only meeting they ever had. 2 months later, my wife's grandfather passed away from a horribly advanced prostate cancer. Wow. That is crazy. That is really cool that he got to meet his family, if even for just one time.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 01:24 PM) We saw what happened not too long ago in Vancouver when the police response wasn't convincing enough at the beginning. What happened in Vancouver is a totally different thing than an organized protest. Also did you just compare OWS protesters to Canuck fans? How dare you.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 01:01 PM) Y2HH is right by the way, that it usually takes just a few people in a large crowd to change the timbre of things really, really quickly. Like, in seconds. This is also true, though less so due to training, for police. You are seriously saying it is OK for protestors to be violent, because cops aren't often killed responding to them? If so, then don't complain when the police use non-lethal force that only occasionally kills people in response to illegal acts. No, I'm saying if you look at the history of protests in this country, which group has overreacted more often? There have been many occasions where protesters have been killed in this country. I'm not anti-cop. I'm just saying they can overreact.
  6. So many policeman have been killed at protests in this country. I could see why they would feel threatened by mostly college kids.
  7. I wonder if the police would ever do something like this to a tea party protest?
  8. Does it even matter? The police could have fired live rounds into the crowd and not one of them would have been fired.
  9. That sucks for Harris. He's a good guy. I just think he's too slow.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 08:18 AM) I wouldn't go as far as to call Chicago teachers communists... http://biggovernment.com/kolson/2011/10/18...-scam-unmasked/ Nazi and Communists working together! Holy s***. This goes deeper than I thought.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 07:47 AM) Based on the history's of other occupy protests, this was all set up ahead of time. A part of the strategy has been to get a certain number of people arrested to keep attention and sympathy on the protests. Probably. I bet the Communist Party USA was behind it. With backing from Castro.
  12. Wow, advocating for sweatshops. Shouldn't say i'm suprised. What's next slave labor? "Well alot of these people are better off as slaves, as least they get a free bowl of rice".
  13. Who really cares about Louis Farrakhan?
  14. I thought the Black Ops campaign was really fun.
  15. I wonder if it will get to the point where games like Battlefield and Call of Duty will even have a campaign. I mean how many times can Russians take over the world? You play the campaign once for about 3-5 hours and than play mulitplayer for months. Why even have a campaign.
  16. Oh come Berrian has been on fire this year. He has 7 catches.
  17. Vikings waived WR Bernard Berrian. The Bears should sign him.
  18. Maybe i'll just wait to get Rage when it's cheaper. I've never really had too many problems with people playing first person shooters. Usually it's just one stupid person and I just mute them. The multiplayer for Battlefield looks pretty awesome.
  19. There are too many games coming out. I want to get Battlefield 3 today, but I still want to get Rage.
  20. The Mike Gravel one is really crazy. The first comment on the youtube video is what really makes it.
  21. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Oct 24, 2011 -> 11:25 AM) Posada Carriles was never convicted of anything. Well, he was once, in absentia in Panama but he was later pardoned by Panamanian President Mireya Moscoso. And frankly, we have no reason to try him because none of his victims were American. Cuba, Guyana and the DPRK are free to try him for murdering their citizens, but in 35 years they have failed to do so. Now, if Carriles were suspected of, and in one nation convicted of, murdering dozens of people, US citizens among them, and then he was compassionately released to his home nation, then I would be angry and demand his arrest by that nation. Also complicating things is the fact that Carriles has no chance of receiving a fair trial in any of those countries I named previously. I'm not going to support turning someone over to certain extrajudicial executioners in Cuba or North Korea. Your analogy doesn't fly, not that I'm surprised. I think it's pretty fair analogy. It has to be able to go both ways.
  22. If I were the Dolphins I would keep Sparano tilll the end of the year. He is an awful coach. Suck for Luck.
  23. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 24, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) Anyone know the last time an NFL game had 9 or fewer total points? The Steelers beat the Dolphins 3-0 back in 2007, but there was crazy winds and rain in that game.
