87.7FM The Game getting shut down
GoSox05 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Most of the on air personalities weren't very good, but it was nice to hear talk radio on FM. Sounds so much better. They also didn't have as many commercials, maybe that was part of their down fall. I feel like the Score can be on commercial forever. -
What's the big deal about splitting up a movie into two parts?

Probably a year too long, but that is free agency. -

I would probably add Dalton to that list. Also Bortles and Carr. They haven't been great this year, but they are rookies with huge upside. -

Stafford has been pretty average this year. I thought he would have a big year. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 11:03 AM) The first 120 minutes of Interstellar were the best movie I've ever seen. Then it got weird. B But I want to see it again. I was surprised at how weird it got it. It wasn't bad, just a little surprising.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 11:59 AM) You put Cutler on the Rams and I think that is a team that does something. Fisher is the type of personality that isn't going to cater to Jay either. They will unleash him from time to time but still run the ball, etc, and really take advantage of Jay's big arm on play action and roll-outs vs. having him drop back 40-50 times. With that defense, no reason that can't work. Same with a team like Houston. Drafting a young QB when you have elite defenses now doesn't necessarily make sense. Cutler is going to have to be on a team with an amazing defense. The way he turns the ball over, you have to be able make up for that. I don't know if teams like St. Louis and Houston can bring in Cutler and that contract and still keep all their defensive players. They might get a one or two year window. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) And have another Jake Locker situation? We went through a QB carousel for almost 2 decades before Cutler came to Chicago and it sucked hard. It sucks hard to see him underachieve for most of his tenure here, but at least you have some certainty at the most important position on the field. Not having a stable QB is one of the worst things you can have in the NFL right now. Jake Locker, Jay Cutler. Either way you aren't winning. Cutler may get you to .500 a couple times, but that's about it. Plus he makes a ton more. Better off drafting a young QB and if that doesn't work out, you draft another one. Right now the Titans are drafting 5th. There is a good chance they move up and the couple teams ahead of them probably aren't taking qb's. Good chance to get Mariota. I'd take that to over paying Cutler 17 million to get 6 or 7 wins. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 11:37 AM) Teams like the Titans would kill for a QB like Cutler. They would kill to get the QB who has the most turnovers in the league? Who is one of the most paid. I would think they would rather just draft one. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 09:17 AM) They play great defense and don't turn the ball over. In this modern NFL that is pretty amazing. -

Chiefs WR touchdowns - 0 J.J Watt receiving touchdowns - 2 How the hell have the Chiefs gone most of the year without a WR catching a touchdown. Also how are they 7-3 doing so. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 11:24 AM) Curious to those of you with PFF, Jake I'm looking your way, how has the WRs ranked as blockers this year? I believe they keep track of that yes? I think one of the main components that seems to be different from last year to this has been last year those little short passes would turn into more because our WR/TEs were up in front blocking, but now though it seems like those are consistently not working. 2014 - Marshall - Pass block 0.5 / Run block 5.3 / Screen 1.0 2013 - Marshall - Pass block 0.0 / Run block 13.0 / Screen 5.0 2014 - Jeffery - Pass block -0.5 / Run block 2.4 / Screen 0.5 2013 - Jeffery - Pass block 0.0 / Run block 3.2 / Screen 0.5 -

Dodgers sure are paying those three outfielders well. There is no way I would take on any of those. I like Kemp, but that deal is a bit much. -

Mel Tucker has been bad, but the Bears have no talent on defense. Maybe one or two good players. Worst safeties in the NFL. -
