  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 17, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) Ben Wallace better be the MVP of the playoffs next year.... he had an overall dissapointing season and the reasoning the whole time is he was saving himself for the playoffs. Well last I checked we were in the playoffs and he is total garbage these last 2 games. I dont care if his back is hurting, 16 million dollars say stfu and play through it and play good. *Sighs* Money doesn't make you just "play through" a back injury. Those are really painful. It may not have looked like it, but I'm sure he was playing as hard as he could, just not the same when you aren't healthy.
  2. We've made 25 field goals and have 20 personal fouls kids. Outside of P.J. Brown for 1 half and Luol Deng sort of, EVERYBODY choked tonight. End of story.
  3. That 6 New Jersey put up in the 4th last night might be outdone by us. Too bad we aren't going to win.
  4. *Sighs* Ben Gordon is still too small, Kirk still can't shoot, and Nocioni is still overrated. Make me eat my words boy, even if I doubt you do.
  5. What in the hell has happened to Fausto Carmona since we lit him up in his first start this year? That sent him to 1-12 since opening day 2006, now he's won 5 in a row and threw a CG SHO to beat Johan. Bizarre.
  6. We will regret not trading him at peak value this offseason more and more by the day. He's a fan favorite but outside of last year, a mediocre hitter with a bad back.
  7. Nice win, and at least 2 guys did show signs at the dish today. Pitching did what it usually does. Just get to the Cubs bullpen this weekend, even I could hit those losers.
  8. The guy pronounces his own name wrong, but this is simply fantastic news. He's a great player, I can't wait to see him in the Indian head sweater next year.
  9. It's Wayne Krivsky. Offer them Casey Rogowski, Jason Rice, and Ryan Bukvich and Griffey is ours.
  10. Well the NBA appears ready to get their way, a Spurs win, so congrats to you guys for deciding who wins this series . Suns just ran out of gas down the stretch with that 6 man rotation.
  11. The Nets won a do or die road playoff game by 11 in which they scored 6 points in the 4th quarter. That is really, really, really wrong. I never have and bet I never will again see that.
  12. Schnur and Carter both REALLY want promotions, they seem to be aware of the trash playing 1B in AA and AAA right now, and are each ON FIRE!! Ricks and Shelby have both been playing really well since we moved them (Ricks to C, Shelby to OF, although Shelby has been back at 2B now the last 2 games). What a bizarre line for DLS tonight. Good to see Thome and Fields have good nights, typical Broadway outing tonight lol, Dewon continues to strike out everything, and Getz and Lucy continue to rake and get no love for it. Cunningham needs to wake the hell up, his numbers overall are still pretty good but he's been pretty bad lately at the dish, and nice to see Oneli pitching better lately.
  13. If we start Masset instead of risking pitching a 22 year old kid who has never pitched near 200 innings on 3 days rest in May, I'm really not going to be pissed at all.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2007 -> 11:28 PM) Be prepared to be pissed off about how we handle the starting spot on Sunday. I can't imagine that we'd start Floyd, even with as big a boner as Kenny has for him, considering the blister problems.
  15. We got the split, and outside of Sisco, we didn't burn out the pen, while keeping it so we have a starter Sunday in Danks. Get the series win tomorrow afternoon and we're ok heading to the Cubs series.
  16. The Legend Jack Cust just hit a solo HR over the center field wall to break a 2-2 tie with Kansas City in the bottom of the 8th and put Joe Blanton in position to move to 5-1. Amazing. EDIT: Oakland blew it in the 9th and lost 4-3, but Cust is still the man. Also, Kip Wells is now 1-8 with a 6.75 ERA. Look out Mike Maroth, 21 losses might have company soon (or if nothing else, Kip's personal career high of 18 losses set in 2005 is in jeopardy).
  17. QUOTE(vandy125 @ May 16, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) Every mistake Erstad makes right now is magnified for some reason. Didn't he also save at least 2 runs earlier in the game with a nice catch at the wall? So he's even on defense and hit a pathetic double play to get his OBP to .295. Congrats.
  18. Erstad never gets bad reads or hits into double plays. How can anybody rip on him?
  19. We gave them SIX OUTS that inning. Uribe, Crede, and Erstad all with honors on their fine play. We're lucky they only got 2, going to be hard to overcome having to get 30 outs.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) Great to get back to my desk to see the final score. I know it's after the fact, but I love that Ozzie kept Thornton in the game to face their lefties. Ozzie had his best regular season game since he took over for us in game 1 IMO. Danks is now a definite option for Sunday since he only threw 6.1 and 88 pitches. He used Thornton against all 3 lefties in the 9th and brought him in for Abreu in the 8th. He got a lot out of Aardsma, he kept the rest of the pen (including Bobby) fresh for tonight....I was impressed.
  21. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 16, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) "REAL" ERA for Danks=3.46 Awesome...although Masset's slide is taking a little of the shine off that deal, and McCarthy has improved, with a 3-4 record and 6.51 ERA. Yep, I was just going to post that, 3.46 is the real one. Oh, and Masset still has an ERA almost identical to McCarthy alone even with the recent turn of those 2. But Danks alone made this trade more than worth it, and I still like Masset.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2007 -> 09:32 AM) That was one of the funniest segments I've ever heard on the radio. by cracky!!!
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 16, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) You're welcome. HA what an atrocious pun. Great work Danks, nice to see some runs, let's beat the Wang tonight and get a sweep. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 16, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) Would anyone want to calculate Danks' ERA if Uribe hadn't made that mistake that wasn't called an error a few starts ago? Well that was 3 earned runs more, so he'd be at 41 and 2/3 innings with 16 earned runs allowed instead of the current 19.
  24. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 16, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) Just got home...Danks number looks solid. Did he look good? Very good, his runs were on a line drive fence scrapper and a squeeze job by the home plate ump. He was nasty.
  25. Damon is up, and Thornton is going for the save here. First pitch is not close, 1-0. 2nd one isn't close either, 2-0 with Jeter on deck and A-Rod in the hole, and Jenks ready in the pen. There's 1, 2-1 count. Another makes it 2-2. Now it's a full count. HE GONE!! Sox win!! WOO GREAT JOB MATT!!
