Reggie and Brian Anderson would get along great.

You knew Mariotti was waiting to write this one...

Don't read the articles if you don't like them, don't listen to Boers and Bernstein if you don't like them, don't buy the Tribune if you don't like them. It saves time, energy, and money. Not that hard. -
Donovan to stay at Florida.

Smart move. They'd be calling for his head in 2 years at Kentucky or in the NBA, and he'll retire THE king at Florida. I'm surprised he didn't leave, but he made the right choice. -
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17630368/ Gotta get the damn SUV's off of Mars, looks like they are going through a rough warming period too. What a coincidence. Getting back on topic though....pretty cool story and find.

Bring the hitting shoes again, boys. And Masset better be ready to deal as well. -
We lost on one of the luckiest ass catches I've ever seen today. If that drops like it would 95 times out of 100, we're 1-1. There is reason for concern, but calm down son.

Just for the record, the tiebreaker between the Bulls and Cleveland is conference record since they split the 4 head to head games, and the Bulls have a 5.5 game lead in that with 6 to go (Cleveland has 7 left), so in other words, if we tie Cleveland, we get the #2 seed. -
You know, otherside is one of my fav RHCP songs, and RHCP is one of my fav bands, but I never thought of it that way. Good catch.

All I'm saying is Erstad is better at the dish than Pods.....and WAY better in the field. And Anderson needs to start, we need his defense, bad.
-
Until we wake up and put Erstad in LF and leading off (and he's less likely to get hurt in left than center IMO) and put Anderson in CF? Erstad was 2 for 2 with 2 singles, 3 walks, 2 steals, and 2 runs scored today. He hit a homer his first at bat. He's not great, but he's WAY better than Pods and him in LF with Anderson in CF makes our defense 1000 times better (which we'll need with all the crap our pitchers are throwing) and is a wash for the offense IMO.

Anybody else buy a pair or two of Starbury's?

QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 06:35 PM) steve and barry's is terrible. The stuff is cheap, but all the uni stuff looks terrible, the colors are always off. I agree in general, this is the first thing I've ever bought from them. There are a ton of shoe styles for this thing, and some are stupid, but a lot look good actually. -
One, probably two to transfer at IU

Frees up spots for better players, if anything this is good for you guys IMO. -

I love how Rip picked a fight due to anger over the beating, and then some Pistons fan threw something at Tyrus, how classy, but typical of Detroit fans. What a great game though, made me feel a lot better, 11 points and 10 boards for Thabo's first career double double (I think first), and most amazing, Tyrus had 13 points and 8 rebounds in TEN MINUTES TOTAL GAME TIME. I've never heard of anything like that. Now, get that #2 seed and avoid Miami and Detroit until playing the winner of their series in the ECF, I hope. -

Man, Gooch destroyed that ball. To hit it out to just right of center (deepest part of the yard) as a RH hitter in this cold is incredible strength. -
Chester Frazier's Father passes away

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) I pulled my original quote....Sorry for the confusion, Chester seems like just a hard working, no nonsense kid. Yeah, he is the definition of energy off the bench, solid reserve point guard. If McCamey is as good as advertised (a la can start next year), I think Chet will have a great season, assuming that is he doesn't transfer due to the grief he's going through, which is possible based on hearsay (and if he were to go back closer to home, I'd have a hard time blaming him). -

Yeah that article kinda says it all I think. Although I'm sure a big target audience for the shoe are the kids and people from poorer and/or urban backgrounds that like to play ball but can't afford 150 dollar LeBron's, these things are also kicking ass in sales in my demographic, the poor college kid who is desperate for something quality they can afford. -

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) What the heck is a Starbury? I assume its some sort of shoe, but I don't know where you'd find good shoes for $16. Well I was sold on them when I saw/tried them on at the store, plus Marbury scored over 40 his first game wearing them (at Dallas, no less) and Ben Wallace had 19 rebounds against Detroit his first game wearing them. Shoes like that for 16 bucks after tax are worth a buy, even if you don't need shoes IMO. -
He's still a year away from getting fired even if we miss the playoffs. Only way he's gone before October of 2008, even if we're bad, is his mouth, and I don't think he's that dumb.

If today's game is played, this would be about as bad a conditions for a Sox game as I've ever seen. And I went to that game several years ago in April against Detroit where like 2,000 people were there and it was 28 degrees out (great game too, we won and Kenny Lofton robbed some guy of a homer, lol). -
I went to Steve and Barry's the other day and got a white pair of them, $16.10 with tax!!! Anyways, they must be selling well because even though like 1/5 of the store was full of them, there were still a boatload of emptying shelves and a sign that said you could only buy 10 pairs max (I'd have bought more than 1 pair but I don't really need shoes right now, haha). Anyways, I got them Monday and have made 2 runs at the rec center here in them and they are actually quite comfortable as well as looking good. So, in conclusion, this might be the best idea to hit the stores since.....well a long time.

Matta had NOTHING to do with that loss. If Ohio State doesn't miss open 3's all night when they doubled/cheated on the post, they win. They didn't, so they lost. That's just one of those things that is on the players. I said the same thing when we lost to UNC in the title game 2 years ago, although we didn't miss as many looks. As for the rules, I'd like to see the line moved back to international distance. It's only about an extra 9 inches (I think college is 19'9", international is 20'6") but it would make a moderate difference and the move could be used. Also, 6 fouls are needed. Yes the college game is 8 minutes shorter, but it's also called much tighter than NBA games, and too many college games are decided by the refs.

I guess it happened last night, according to the illiniboard. Thoughts and prayers to the kid and his family, that's horrible news to hear.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 02:15 AM) AAwful? I thought he threw the best set of sliders I've seen from him since joining the ballclub. Yeah I know his stuff is good, but he was 50/50 on balls and strikes and although his 7th was damn good, the 8th was atrocious and probably should have been worse. This pen has a ton of potential, but somebody better throw a damn strike. -
One day, people will realize that, even though "OMG THERE HAVE NO ATTACKS ON US SOIL SINCE 9/11", the terrorists are winning this war more than ever in our country. Silly laws taking away our freedoms in order to "be safer" are damn well more likely to bring down this democracy than a crazy dude with a bomb strapped to him is.

Even a person who thinks that the idea humans are causing global warming is BS like me thinks that C02 can and should be regulated. I mean why the hell wouldn't somebody want cleaner air, or at least to try and create cleaner air?
