Well, in his first MLB start last night, Hamilton went 1 for 3 with a 2 run home run and 2 walks (the homer being his first ever MLB hit), and tonight in his 2nd start, he's 2 for 4 with another home run (solo) and 2 runs scored. This kid is something, it's a miracle he's even alive, he hasn't played in like 3 years, he has never played above a ball, and he's doing this. It's like the modern day, somewhat younger and more drugs in the past version of Roy Hobbs.

Felix Hernandez No-No Through Six
whitesoxfan101 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in The Diamond Club
Mr. Gyroball has a crappy fastball (and yes, I saw the juiced velocity numbers on ESPN tonight, there is no way Dice K was throwing 95 or King Felix was throwing 100). Dice K has great offspeed stuff, but his fastball got killed when he did throw it, and it will continue to all year as it is about 91 and straight as an arrow. King Felix is just filthy though, yikes. -

I've had a different player of the game each game for the first 7....make it 8 today, Mark, and we'll win. -
question for Chsoxfn/all the californians...
whitesoxfan101 replied to BearSox's topic in The Diamond Club
Having the Dish, I know they have like FSN West, FSN West 2, FSN Bay Area, FSN Prime Ticket, a couple of FSN Pluses, plus the Padres play a lot of games on Channel 4. They figure it out it seems like, although damn that's a lot of games. -

Chandler would be a moron to leave. Another year of development along with next years class not being quite as strong and he could be a first round pick without question. Plus he REALLY needs another year of seasoning in college. -

Roy Hibbert on line 1.......please keep losing Knicks and please help us ping pong balls. Although I've been reading the Bulls would like Julian Wright, but why? He's another forward who we don't know exactly what position he plays. As good a talent as he is and as much as Jimbo would cream himself with Julian on the Bulls, that doesn't fit at all with Tyrus, Luol, Big Ben, and Andres around, plus Thabo can play the 3. P.J. is going to retire, so that's the spot he'd take, but there just aren't minutes for everybody. We HAVE to get a true 4 or 5 who can score, but damn it's going to be hard with where the Bulls are slotted right now. The one interesting thing though is looking at the squad, even assuming P.J. isn't back, there is almost too much talent to give everybody minutes. Maybe we can trade up a few spots to get a Hibbert or Horford or something like that using somebody we have now *cough Nocioni cough*. -
There is reason for concern, but we have MacDougal as a backup plan and Bobby hasn't just forgot how to pitch. There is a reason why he almost worked out of that jam last night, after all. Just don't panic....yet, over Bobby.

Rumor has it that by July they expect to ban Frank from Canada all together for "baseball abuse."
-
The Mounties have surrounded Frank's house and threatened to take his 981 home runs (I believe that is what 488 is after translation to Canadian) away if he protests this decision.

Pac Man gone for season, Henry for 8 games
whitesoxfan101 replied to WilliamTell's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Based on the actual history of these 2, not public perception, it should have been a year for Henry and 8 for Jones. But since it's all about public perception, they got it backwards. They both deserved a harsh punishment though. -
QUOTE(spiderman @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:57 AM) I don't believe I am overreacting. I'm only asking if anyone is concerned if his fastball was around 89MPH last night. No no your not, I mean in general, sorry if it seemed like I was saying you, as this is a fair thread. Yeah his fastball velocity is/was down last night, but he lost it because he made a horrid pitch to Walker.

CHA CHING

The concern on Bobby here is laughable. He had looked fine his first few outings, he pitched his way into 1st and 2nd nobody out, was ONE PITCH away from somehow getting out of that, and then made a mistake to Walker. And then he made his pitch to get it to the 10th and Pods effed it up. PEOPLE, CALM DOWN!! When I am the one playing the voice of reason, you know people are overreacting lol.

I REALLY hope we win today, or else this place is going to be unbearable. That, and the fact that last nights loss was a major, major kick in the balls, and we need a series win. -

Aww the Knicks are whining the Bulls ran up the score last night, how adorable!! Hey guys, how about you don't lose by 30, that way nobody will run up the score on you. Anyways, 3 more wins and it's #2 seed time. -
As bad as Ozzie was tonight, there were many others reasons we lost this game. Jenks should be able to get Todd Walker out.

Only in Oakland.....

To all those idiots who believe Cubs fans don't care about us, take a look at Carlos Lee. He's getting booed like hell every time he bats or catches a ball this series, and they ain't booing him for what he did with the Brewers.

Somebody needs to remind Jermaine Dye and Tadahito Iguchi that they are in a contract year, btw. -
The ship sails when they can develop pitching like they are everyday players. AKA not for a long time.

Let's get it. Oh, and I always thought it sounded like a soccer game in Oakland. That stadium is in the worst neighborhood of all time though, it's probably the only one in American sports i'd be somewhat afraid to go to. -

Coming soon to a YouTube near you: Devin Hester sings the 7th inning stretch. God I love that guy, only he could do the 7th inning stretch at a Cubs game and make my man crush on him even bigger.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) Are you being sarcastic? Teahan was absolutely ridiculous the second half of last season. And why not bring Gordon up, the kid might as well grow a bit at the major league level. He had over a full season over minor league ball, had success and isn't being thrown into a high pressure situation with the Royals. LOL yes I thought *rolls eyes* gave away I was being dead sarcastic. Teahen is outstanding, and Gordon just isn't ready IMO. Back on topic, Monday was a good day in the AL Central.
