  1. WOW, that was close at 2nd.
  2. Well at least he didn't GIDP.
  3. QUOTE(S720 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) To those of you who have angrily complained about Ozzie putting Rob in CF, please send your apology. I guess there's a reason why we always manage our White Sox team via virtualization. He could go 4 for 4 and it's still a dumb move. You don't get it, Rob SHOULD be playing everyday.....in LF, with Brian in CF.
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Waking up from my hangover, I see Javy has done very nicely so far. Hopefully he can keep it up. Ha, must feel like a post drunken dream world.
  5. Another base hit for Rob. Well he hasn't screwed up in CF yet and is 2 for 2, so ok.
  6. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) Yep, I was just expecting a "BA would've caught it, f*** you Ozzie" post from someone. I STILL can't believe Mack is out there, but that ball landed in straightaway left. Not sure WTF Pods was doing.
  7. Javy through 5 scoreless. Top of the order up in the 6th. *grabs tums*
  8. Where the hell was Pods? On the foul line?
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) Guerrier is so good. I was a big fan of his and hated when we dealt him for Marte (obviously that was a good move for us though). But man we are gonna have trouble hitting him, it always seems like we do. Hopefully Javy can stay strong and stay out of the big inning. Good thing if we survive this game is they probably won't use him the next 2 days since he's saving their pen.
  10. QUOTE(Chopper2Hopper @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) And he used to be ours. We traded him for Marte, which I really can't call a bad trade, despite Damaso's struggles last year.
  11. Ugh.....Gload JUST misses one. Btw, I missed it, any info on why Radke left? Is it the rotator cuff? He might be done for the year if that's what it is.
  12. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/new...sp&c_id=chc Bold #1 is the dumbest thing I've ever seen a manager say, and Bold #2 is fun because he's had exactly what he asked for this year and been bad, yet still has the balls to say that.
  13. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) Lemont gets Chatham Glenwood tonight down at Illinois Wesleyan. The last time I saw, Lemont was in the teens of the poll. This years Lemont team might be the best in school history.
  14. He has a point on this, however he might be the dumbest man in America so it's going to get lost. Maybe he wants a chocolate World Trade Center.
  15. I love the new profiles and such on MILB, great stuff. Can somebody give me some more info on Egbert, like what kinda stuff he throws? And I still think Ricks is done Heads, he turns 24 in 4 weeks.
  16. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) If a white player gets booed...is it racism? I didn't think sounds equated racism. Neither did I....I don't agree with the articles actually, however the way they are written make it obvious that they think Dusty is a victim of racism to an extent. Maybe they should realize he's just a really bad manager.
  17. There are only 30 something games left. We haven't played well, we haven't hit our stride, all kinds of questions....and yet, we have a 1/2 game lead on the Twins, and only 5 behind in the loss column on the "great" Tigers. They are at our house, IT'S TIME TO STEP THE HELL UP AND SHOW WHY 2005 HAPPENED. GET IT DONE BOYS!!
  18. Egbert with another pretty strong outing for B-Ham, and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE (54 k's and 12 bb in 40.2 IP at AAA) with a perfect 9th and 2 k's for the save at Charlotte. Nice.
  19. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 01:56 AM) And he pitches in that bandbox. That says it all Arroyo has a 3.44 ERA this year, but has actually been better at home (3.05) than away (3.87). Go figure, and yeah Arroyo and Garland pitch in the 2 best hitters parks in the game as well.
  20. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) Nah not really, he could've been better than Ritchie and his 6 ERA. Either way with Garland and Wright in 02 that team wasn't going too far. Garland was ok at 12-12, and Wright did win 14 games (14-12) in 2002...although his ERA was a hair over 5, actually he'd fit in well on this years staff.
  21. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) Kip Wells and Josh Fogg could have made all the difference in the world in 2002, even in all their mediocrity. Fogg was even worse than the crap we threw out there in 2002, however your right about Wells. Wells only went 12-14 in 2002, but he had a very solid 3.58 ERA in 198 innings, and damn that woulda helped out the rotation.
  22. First of all, Craig Monroe and Marcus Thames have been the Tigers 2 best hitters for a couple months now, but I digress. And also, the Yanks lineup when healthy is going to be a biatch. But anybody could have had him, all you have to do is pay the whole contract (which is a lot more value to the Phillies, all that freed up money, than prospects could ever be). The Yankees are also losing money this year, so it's not like this trade doesn't hurt their pocketbook.
  23. Jered Weaver finally loses one (falls to 9-1), as the Angels lose 2-1 to Boston. Weaver actually pitched well, 6 innings of 1 run ball, and lowered his ERA from 1.95 to 1.92, but for some reason the Angels couldn't hit baseball's worst starter ERA wise since late April, as Josh Beckett pitched well. However Beckett had to leave the game with a "cut on his right middle finger", which doesn't sound good, especially considering his history with that finger and blisters. Angels are now 5.5 behind Oakland, which is good. Despite our horrible history with Oakland, I'd rather see them in the playoffs than Anaheim and that ridiculous rotation. The only worry with the A's rotation overall is if Harden gets healthy, but he's becoming Ben Sheets/Mark Prior/Kerry Wood like in that department.
  24. I doubt Lee lands with the Cubs now. Boras means big money, and when is the last time the Cubs spent huge money on a top free agent (and no, Greg Maddux doesn't count). EDIT: No more Boras?? Cubs might still have a shot then....although you know they'll just cheap out for 2nd rate free agents like they always do. Ahh the Cubs...
  25. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 06:08 PM) Although I doubt it would factor much. Would Hendry honestly give him an extension because of how it may appear letting him go? OF COURSE HE WOULD!! That's why I think this might be a factor, these are the freaking Cubs. They won't trade guys at peak value because they are afraid they'll piss off the fanbase after all. So I really think the Cubs would keep Baker even if it was only to avoid the muddy situation of how it appeared they let him go.
