  1. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) Agree...I do not understand all this the Tigers are not that good...blah blah blah. Stats don't lie and they look a lot like we did last year. Sure I think that the Sox are better up and down and we have proved that when we play them, but by no means are the Kitties going to fold up and go home. The Tigers are a very good team and won't fold. Heck, in fact I think they will win the Wild Card.....however if they plan on winning the Central they are going to have to win 100 games, and I would be shocked if they are capable of doing that. And hey if they do, we'll see them in the ALCS (and that's possible too).
  2. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Keep in mind we still have 13 games left against you. I somehow doubt our head to head record will look like it does right now at season's end. Well we went 14-5 against Cleveland last year, and to do that against the Tigers this year we'd need to finish up 9-4. I'll say the teams play even and say we finish 7-6, but that means the Sox win the season series 12-7, and that 5 games of ground we gain would be a huge difference.
  3. QUOTE(CardsJimEdmonds15 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) The Mets and Cards are the best the NL has to offer and that's not saying anything.. The Mets are the only NL team that doesn't suck, as they have a good bullpen, an actual lineup 1-8, and get good starting pitching including 2 aces. Every other team in the NL has gaping holes, and I still question just how good the Mets even are.
  4. QUOTE(Dawgs @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) Youre in denial. And in for a fight. All season. Not unless you win 105 games, because that is about where we will finish. And if you do, it's just a battle for who has home field and who has the wild card. I'm not in denial, but you are for thinking the Tigers can do this all year. Your inability to beat us will haunt you at the end of the year, so enjoy your 1/2 game lead right now as you play a bit over your heads.
  5. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) Last I checked, St. Louis isn't that bad a team. Sure it may look it the way you guys destroyed them, but they're better then you may think. They will complete an 0-6 road trip tomorrow, and have a losing record against the Cubs. Their record is entirely due to their league, they are average AT VERY MOST.
  6. QUOTE(Dawgs @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Its called destiny. You guys should know a bit about it. And the White Sox are still a much better team than the Tigers. Once the Tigers start playing real baseball teams again, they'll lose. They are just great at beating bad teams, so I give them that.
  7. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) Posturing by KW to finally get Ozzie to back down a bit and keep his mouth shut for a while. That's ALL this is. Kenny does not posture, so Ozzie better STFU becuase Kenny will do it, and he'd hate to as much as we'd hate to see it.
  8. Were the Tigers stealing signs? NL=useless. We just have to keep winning everyday, and we should with as f***ing awful as these teams are.
  9. Germany completely dominates the first half, leading Sweden 2-0, and the Swedes have lost a man to a red card already. This one is pretty much done.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 03:17 AM) That makes two of us. I like being the team that everyone hates. That makes 3 of us. People are idiots, so if most people hate us, it just proves I picked the right team to like.
  11. Great article. And really, the title says it all....as long as Ozzie wins game, all this other B.S. doesn't mean anything.
  12. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 10:13 AM) i feel special about tonight...not only will we win number 9 tonight...we'll win number 10 too. I'm that confident It'll be tough on Sunday with the goober pitching, but then again he had a 5-0 lead against us in game 3 and we saw how that turned out.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) Marte >>> Timo At baseball? Yes of course....but we knew what Timo was, a sorry ass player who had a lot of clutch hits. Marte would pitch great for a week, then walk everybody he saw for 2. It f***ing drove me up the wall, hence I consider him far more evil than Timo.
  14. QUOTE(T R U @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) It aint the same.. Also, Buchholtz is not that good.. but with our inept way of handling rookies we are either gonna get shut down or crush him IMO He sucks ass, this isn't Reyes or anything.....we should be fine as long as Jon continues his improved work on the bump.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) More like Satan. That would be Marte last year.
  16. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) Cubs lose to the Twins 7-2 woo Yeah that was pretty much an auto win for you guys with that pitching matchup....Morneau continues to RAKE though, he's finally figured out how good he is. Should be interesting to see which Prior shows up tomorrow agianst the mighty Boof. The Twins are just unlucky to be in the division from hell.....they've won 12 of 14, but have gained pretty much no ground, and are STILL 11 behind Detroit and 10.5 behind us and pretty much hopeless in this race. They are probably a playoff team in the NL too.
  17. Minor issue here, but how is Pujols the "power performer of the night". ESPNEWS blows, I know Pujols had a GREAT night, but his team lost. The winner of this award should be Ryan Freel, who was 5 for 5 with 2 stolen bases, 2 runs scored, 2 doubles, great defense, and his team won 3-0 over the suddenly PATHETIC Indians.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Widger Timo
  19. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Tyler Bucholtz will be pitching... he is supposed to be good... but has sucked on numerous occations... I'm worried about sundays game. Yeah, considering we swept St. Louis and with how the matchups go in this series....I'd take 2 of 3 and be happy with it. Hopefully we keep rolling and get a sweep though.
  20. For all the picking us up Jose did down the stretch last year, in the playoffs, and early this year.....it's fitting we picked him up in return in back to back starts to get him that record. Congrats to Jose, it wasn't pretty...but it's yet another victory. Hopefully the dreaded 8 game winning streak does not bite us in the ass tomorrow.
  21. Victory again!! 8 in a row now.....time to see if the dreaded 8 game winning streak holds to form again tomorrow.
  22. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) The more I watch Cora, the more I realize that Hawk isn't just making excuses for him when he says, "It puts pressure on the defense to make a big play" Hawk really isn't at all. Joey is one of the few guy that will send just about anybody and make the defense make a play, and most of the time the defense figures out a way to f*** it up and it works out. Might as well keep sending them until the defenses prove otherwise. 1 out.
  23. Riske's first inning in a big spot, and he gets it done big time with a VERY easy inning. Great to see, hopefully Jenks can do his typical thing in the 9th and we can get the hell outta here with a dub.
  24. QUOTE(soxwon @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) Anyone notice the CLEAVAGE girl behind the right handed hitting batters first or second row. Not again.....
  25. NICE JOB COTTS, now put B-Mac?? in for the 8th, and get Jenks the ball please. Man I've been getting spoiled lately, kinda ugly game tonight, but we're 6 outs from a win up 2, so not bad at all obviously. I just have felt uneasy about this one all game.
