  1. This officiating isn't doing much for the Gophers either.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) Super weird. I have the Minnesota game here in Birmingham, but not the UAB game in the CUSA Tournament. Not sure how to figure that one out?? The CUSA games today were/are on CSTV, which why you aren't getting those.
  3. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) I'm more worried about tonight's game than tomorrow's game to be honest. I'm worried about both, but thinking about this game in terms of if we win tonight. Horner and Grier are going back and forth, 2 man game right now.
  4. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) You get coverage of it? They better have it on Sportscenter or something.. Also, nice little run here for Minny, up by 4 according to GameCenter. Channel 26 in Chicagoland. He put himself and Mike Henderson onto every highlight show in the country. I honestly don't really care who wins this game, these 2 teams scare me equally, but that dunk had me going crazy.
  5. That dunk by Grier is a strong candidate for dunk of the year. That and the Randle dunk on Marco....wow. He's having a pretty good game overall too....
  6. PLEASE trade for a 2nd lefty, or bring 1 lefty north. For the love of God....
  7. I sure hope we can make a trade for a 2nd lefty outta the pen, because he isn't currently in our system. Ugh.
  8. Yay, we're beating a glorified high school team. We are toast against Venezuela and the DR and maybe even Cuba. Ugh.
  9. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) IU scored 5 points in the last 13 minutes of the half. 5 points. 19-15 Wisky at half time. This game is absolutely brutal. Wow. Somewhere, Dick Bennett is smiling. You'd swear they got rid of the shot clock for this game.
  10. I'll have no problem rooting against my own country if he's playing for it.
  11. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) Tennesse's down 11 to Scarolina with 2:30 left. Vols lose again. It's pretty clear that Pearl's helter skelter style has run this group of players out of gas. But as he gets his players in there (ie: people in better shape more suited to play the style) they are going to be damn good consistently IMO.
  12. Poor girl, we've all had a reaction like that before. But damnit, you can't be saying that if you have a mic on, even if you don't think it's REALLY on.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) Ron Lewis saved OSU today. That and the fact that Penn State s*** the bed and stopped running offense once they built the lead to 12.
  14. I'm glad Ohio State won. If Illinois is fortunate enough to reach the final, I want another shot at them.
  15. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) 3/10 Bracketology http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology Man, a 2nd round Illinois/Bradley game would be a lot of fun....unless of course Nevada wins, and then Augie can own Fazekas in round 2 for the 2nd year in a row.
  16. Duke is fortunate Miami is the worst fundemental team in the nation, or they'd be heading to the dance with 3 straight losses. Boy are they looking tired, they might have almost been better off losing and getting more rest.
  17. To be honest, I don't think either Borch or Gload are worth a damn. They are fighting for the 25th roster spot, and neither is going to play much, even with Ozzie as our manager. I kinda want Gload to get the job, just because I want Joe Borchard to go away and never come back, he's already a monumental bust.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) Iowa State football does that. Two years ago we got a trophy after that travashamockery of coaching that cost us a spot as outright North champions and a championshhip game berth. Our men's sports teams do nothing but turn lemonade into lemons... As an NIU student, I can tell you I feel your pain there. In 2003, NIU starts 7-0 and #10 in the BCS, ends up finishing 3rd in the MAC West at 9-2 overall and not making a bowl. In 2004, NIU has a trip to the MAC Title game in their hands, and they are embarassed on national T.V. AT HOME against Toledo. In 2005, NIU finally beats Toledo (on the road!) to get to the MAC Title game, and blows a 13 point 4th quarter lead to FREAKING AKRON to lose 31-30 on a 35 yard TD pass with 15 seconds left and miss a bowl. And then yesterday, the MAC West Champs of basketball head into the MAC Tourney with the #2 seed and a bye, fall behind by 21 points with 14 minutes left, come all the way back, and lose by 1.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 10:18 AM) What Carl is missing is that chemistry can happen in spite of some people in a clubhouse, not because of them. That part I agree with, but at the same time Carl isn't going to go and say how awesome the White Sox are now that he plays in Seattle. At least he isn't taking personal shots at our GM, owner, and new DH.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 10:15 AM) Just tell Konerko to run a post pattern to 1st. Too bad the runner will be at 3rd by the time he gets there. We are going to need to put Pablo at 1st if we plan on using that strategy.
  21. Poor Heads, haha. All I can say is Illinois is the only team that can piss you off as a fan by winning 4 RS conference titles (or co titles) in 6 years, with the reason being if not for 1 point in 2003 (at Wisky) and 2006 (vs. Penn State), it would be 6 straight.
  22. The thing people don't seem to understand is the WBC is an event strictly to get countries outside the U.S. excited about the game. The difference between us and the rest of the world is our country has the best league play in the world in the 4 major sports, and we get to see great, exciting play all the time. All these other countries, however, get excited about an event like this because it's THEIR players taking on the world, including the mighty United States. International play and national pride is how sports works around the world, whereas in the U.S. it's all about your city/states team and league play in the U.S. itself. This event is all about the promotion of the game globally, and has very little to do with the U.S., where baseball is growing in popularity like hell as it is and is still known as the American pastime.
  23. He's improving a lot, which is a good sign considering who Crede's agent is. Let's hope he keeps getting better and is ready to start when the time comes.
  24. Carl has the right to his opinion, unlike a certain DH here, he hasn't been a primma donna asshole and clubhouse cancer for several years with the Sox. With that said, I have the right to respectfully disagree with him.
  25. This is a lost argument. The common fans will always defend Gordon because he can score, and will ignore the fact he sucks at every other aspect of the game. It's kind of similar to Hammerhead with Tyson Chandler (who can do nothing but rebound and block/alter shots) only in reverse. I just rip Tyson a bit more since he makes a lot more money.
