  1. I was there, quite a couple of games. Scheyer, Oden, and Conley all impressed me like hell in game 1. I can honestly say I think Oden could start for a bit more than half of the NBA teams at center, which says how good he is and how bad NBA Centers are. Conley is going to be real good at tOSU, he's get a lot more attention if he wasn't on Oden's team. Scheyer is going to be the next Redick, too bad for him he has NO help at all on that team, which just says how good he was to take them all the way last year (and might do it again this year) in Illinois AA. Warren and Proviso East was interesting. Warren was WAY better coached, but PV East had more talent and was so much bigger. Carlwell has A FREAKING TON of talent, but is very raw, you can tell he hasn't received good coaching. To be honest though, once he gets some time in Champaign under Bruce, I think he is going to be a star in the Big 10, but he's not going to be some 1 and done guy. Warren played like a 5 guard lineup, but I was really impressed by it. Ceola Clark is a player (I hope NIU gets him, only a junior) and the 2 football players, Moore (going to Iowa State, yay Heads!! lol) and Lewis (yay NIU!!) are great athletes.
  2. I'm not sure why Villanova is a "stepping stone" job as it seems to be assumed in this thread....they have a great history, play in the Big East, are in a major city (Philly) and an area where they can get tons of good east coast recruits, not sure why he'd be so quick to leave.
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) Kansas up 47-32 at the half, now up 59-55 with 11 minutes left....:rolly: Iowa State always f***ing with ya Heads!
  4. This Marshall team is interesting. They have been doo doo all year (9-12, 2-6 in CUSA!) but won against West Virginia, and is leading by 3 against Memphis early in the 2nd half. Game is on CSTV for those of you who have it, it would be funny is Marshall shocks another team..... (watch them lose by 15 now)
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) They might be the deepest league when comparing good teams to the amount of teams in the league, as far as final four contenders go, the big east is superior to the big 10. Agreed, I think you said it better than I could. I would be shocked if any Big 10 team makes the final 4, none are that cailbur.
  6. I am officially saying it.... Big Ten=NFL. It's not parity, it's mediocrity. But hey, you could really say that for the entire NCAA. At least the Big 10 has GOOD teams, just nothing resembling a great team (but that's good enough to mean the Big 10 is the best league in the NCAA, which says a lot about the NCAA).
  7. I love how both parties play the fear card, yet neither has an actual plan to make things better. There is a reason I purposely didn't vote in 2004, and why that trend will continue; both parties name call and mud sling, but neither has anything resembling an actual plan.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 03:51 PM) Wiscy trails at the half Yeah they were trailing at Penn State, freaking hilarious. :banghead :banghead
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) Big 12 10-year team: Hinrich Collison LaFrentz Ford Fizer Guess what? All three Kansas players were from the state of Iowa. I would assume Iowa fans are pretty pissed about that fact as well.
  10. I thought for a while it was parity in the Big 10, but I'm beginning to think more and more it's mediocrity and the lack of a really good team. Fun stuff though, and there are a bunch of NCAA Tourney calibur teams, just not much more than that.
  11. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:42 PM) In other Big 10 news, my Spartans look like a solid bet in the conference right now. Eventually (I think) everybody is going to figure out nobody is (or will be) a solid bet in this league until it's all clear at the end of the season. Anybody can beat anybody anywhere, it's amazing stuff. Although with this said, Ohio State vs. Illinois is a must win for both teams tomorrow IMO.
  12. My goodness, Haluska does the only thing he could to not end it, miss the 1st. 2nd is good, 3 point game. Well, Indiana has a chance to tie it...
  13. If Iowa executes, this one is over. Indiana has made some stupid ass decisions not shooting 3's. Ah well, at least an Indiana loss officially eliminates them, same goes for Michigan losing today knocking them out, so it's not all bad.
  14. Haha apparently Davis isn't coaching today because of "the flu". Yeah right, you've seen him coach his last game at Indiana, the settlement just couldn't get finished in time apparently, talk about a poorly handeled situation.
  15. The fact that the main person b****ing about this was the ignorant ass racist Mike North tells me all I need to know about what side of the argument Ozzie is on here. If he wants to skip leaving his family for what is nothing more than a photo-op, more power to him.
  16. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:25 AM) This is a sad day for Kansas, Quin was so much fun to watch. I believe bruce pearl will take the iu or mu jobs. There is zero chance Pearl leaves the Vols. He's in a great situation, recruiting well, in a s*** basketball league, a huge arena, growing fan support.....he's not going anywhere.
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) This isn't actually an injury but it did happen to a friend of mine. He and his girl where "having relations" for the first time. Once he was in she clenched up, and couldn't unclench. He was stuck. They had to call the paramedics. They gave her some muscle relaxers or something like that, and said told them it really wasn't that unusual. Had a friend that had that happen to them too, so great to make fun of. Sounds like a b**** to have happen to you though. WTF?? As for me, just floorburn and general soreness, I'm boring apparently.
  18. QUOTE(Purdue129 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) anybody know of anywhere (other than Peegs) with info on Davis resigning tomorrow? Nah, but that rumor is hot over there. I know the Indiana students have a protest planned for the next home game (which is tomorrow?)
  19. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 04:43 PM) I think Bush is gonna be a stud. Front office guys always try to under-sell draftees before the draft, i think most of the bad things you hear about before April is posturing. The only way you can really tell how they feel about the player is on draft day when someone falls or someone is a surprise pick. Thats the way I look at it. I mean come on, we all watched Reggie Bush all year, no one could touch him in the open field, and even in closed quarters he was tough to pull down. The guy is fast as hell, and he played in a program that has been turning out NFL picks for quite some time now. Well put, but I point out 2 factors. One is I've heard this about Reggie since he was a star coming out of Helix (and he had LenDale helping him at USC) and the Pac 10 defenses aren't exactly all that good.
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) its funny that the Texans first ever move was to try and solidy the O-line by drafting Tony Boselli in the expansion draft, but Tony Boselli never actually played for the Texans because he never recovered from the shoulder injuries that landed him on the expansion draft list in the first place. Very true. I think Reggie Bush is going to be a GREAT player, but the Texas have so many needs, they could get a ton of value for that pick, and the fact that I keep hearing "Reggie Bush isn't a 25 carry a game tailback" makes me nervous.
  21. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) I'm going to miss Illinois beating Missouri every year most of all. But wait, didnt he learn basketball at the hands of the immortal Coach K?! How could any of his disciples possibly fail?! If ND had a clue basketball exists, Mike Brey would be next. Amaker is coming up with an incredible run, or he'd be gone too. These Duke guys are finding life difficult without Myron Piggie and the refs on their team.
  22. Well, it's either Reggie Bush or trade the pick. IMO they should trade the pick with all their needs (and the fact Domanick Davis is pretty good), but that's just me.
