  1. Not sure how Texas is ahead of Illinois after that abomination of a performance they put in at The Meadowlands Saturday.
  2. As long as the Cubs continue to have no interest in winning, like it's been the last almost century now, it's all good.
  3. Anybody that goes to a Sox WS game with his dad as a fan, even though he plays for an NL team, is ok in my book. I'll be in the Mac fan club, definitely. Also, as much as the Trib blows, I think Phil Rogers does a real good job overall.
  4. The sad part is that if this guy gets his sentence of death carried out, this WILL turn into a racial issue. Jessie Jackson will show up, all that good stuff. This isn't about race though, or children's book, or politics....it's about a sick human being, and a murderer who started a gang that ruined the lives of thousands of youths, being put to death. If this guy is such a good man and looking out for kids by writing books for them to read, which didn't he think about it and be a productive member of society, rather than start a gang and kill people?
  5. The new NHL really isn't just a cliche. I've watched some games and it's a lot more fun to watch this season. However, I'm still a bandwagon hockey fan, so I need a good, playoff calibur Hawks team to really get interested.
  6. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) I dont know if I agree with this. the Pistons were no joke last year. Noone knows how those conference finals would have ended up. But I do agree that a healthy Dwayne Wade would have put the Heat in a much better situation to win, no doubt. Oh the Pistons had a great team, I agree. And they might have still won with Wade healthy, but the Heat had a 3-2 lead with Wade healthy, and I think they win with him not getting hurt. At any rate, I was moreso trying to make my point that Stan got a raw deal. He is probably my 2nd favorite NBA coach right now (although I guess he's no longer a coach, haha) behind Skiles (obviously). I think he really got a raw deal, this was a setup by Riley to bring himself back from the start and this is not surprising.
  7. Interesting thing is IMO the Heat win the Championship last year if Wade doesn't get hurt late in game 5 of the East Finals against Detroit. The Heat up 3-2 with a healthy Wade wouldn't have lost that series. Also remember in '03-'04, he helped develop a VERY young team (with no Shaq) that started 0-9 into a playoff team that made the 2nd round of the playoffs. Van Gundy is a good coach (best in his family) and he was a victim of a setup and Pat Riley's ego. Sad to see.
  8. Wow....I knew Riley would let his huge ego get in the way and oust Van Gundy, just surprised it happened this quick. It's a shame, he's a good coach and will be appreciated somewhere else. Interesting to see what happens now with Riley taking over (which is what is going to happen).
  9. The '72 Dolphins better hope the Colts rest starters the next few games, because otherwise nobody can (or will) beat them.
  10. Luther at the Illini game in Portland Saturday night....(Rockets had a game at the Blazers Sunday). Great to see him there (was on camera during the game a couple times too) probably my all time favorite college hoops player.
  11. Loyola beat Purdue 80-65, pretty much dominating and in control the whole game. Loyola is very talented for a Horizon League team and IMO could definitely win the league, make the dance, and give somebody fits once there. But.......Purdue is amazingly bad.
  12. I'm not impatient or going on emotions. Orton sucked ass today as always, typical game for him, but the defense didn't play amazing and win for him, so it just is much easier to see how bad he is when we don't win. However now apparently we should keep playing Orton because 9-4 is still good, it's the defense fault we lost, and Rex has an average set of numbers in 6 games he played with s*** around him. I'm amazed this argument is even happening.
  13. Loyola hosts Purdue tonight on Comcast Sportsnet at 7. Loyola has a real nice team (that IMO will represent the Horizon League in the dance) and I expect them to win this one.
  14. When you play a good team, and your QB hits under 50 percent of his passes and leads the team to 9 points....your probably going to lose. Regardless of what the defense does (and they didn't play well). The defense has NOTHING to do with how f***ing awful Orton is, just like when we were winning, it didn't change the fact that Orton sucks.
  15. All those with Orton woodies will come out now and say how awesome he was leading us to 9 points!! It's the defenses fault we lost!! Yeah, that's it!! Ugh.
  16. Indiana could very well win the conference if White and Marco stay healthy AND if they get consistent guardplay. But I have been very underwhelmed by the guards Indiana has, so they need to find somebody who can get it done at that spot in conference play.
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) You also said you hate Indiana on Tuesday, so of course that's a quality analysis right there. I know I'm am IU fan, but I'm not saying Aboz is right. I'm predicting IU doesn't move in the rankings. The two games this week cancel each other out. The fact that I don't like Indiana doesn't change the fact they lost to a bottom of the barrel Valley team this week. It also doesn't change the fact that Kentucky is only ranked because of their name, and other than Rajon Rondo, doesn't have a single player worth much of anything with Randolph Morris gone. Indiana is a top 20 team and will be dancing this year (unless Mike Davis pisses the bed again) but to say my common sense anaylsis means nothing because I don't like Indiana is stupid. That's like me saying anything you say about Illinois doesn't count because you don't like them. Regardless of how you feel, it doens't change the fact that an accurate statement is right.
  18. I don't know if Oregon will ever schedule a hoops game with Illinois again after the awe-striking beat downs they have taken the last 2 years.
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) Around #13 or #14 I'd say. I sure hope the voters don't reward Indiana by moving them up a few spots. Sure they killed Kentucky today, but Kentucky really isn't very good (amazing i'm saying that) and you just cannot lose to Indiana State. And Illinois.....Bruce is just something else. Unreal they are 10-0.
  20. I give the Bulls credit. They played like absolute f***ing s*** in every phase of the game tonight, and that's not easy to do. Worst loss of the year, losing to a bad team at home and being terribly outplayed throughout.
  21. This looks like the Illinois version of Brian Cook. Unreal.
  22. This is pathetic. Luckily the Lakers suck, or we'd be down 20 plus.
  23. Defense as a whole tonight has really sucked. And damn, the rim on the end the Lakers are going towards is REALLY tight, noticed it during the 1st half when the Bulls were shooting at it too.
  24. Make up call on that goaltend. Regardless of what the homer announcers of ours say.
  25. Regardless of what happens tonight, this game REALLY shows how much we need Ben. We've done a great job not turning it over, and still are struggling to score. Without Ben's offensive firepower, we aren't the same.
