  1. Haha, so Iowa is the #3 team in their own state. Good stuff.
  2. Scottie was the original "hybrid type" wing player....could play every position on offense and defense other than center, was so versatile, great defender, selfless offensive player. Despite some of the other issues, Scottie was a GREAT GREAT player and it's nice to see him get his props tonight.
  3. Ahh yes, Hilton Magic....2nd toughest place to play in the Midwest . Good luck to your guys Heads.
  4. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...cs-home-utility Well done, even has some Cubs bashing in it.
  5. Uribe plays his ass off and comes up big in the clutch for a pretty good value. Tejada makes 4/48, and tanks it the 2nd half of the year, then asks to be traded if he isn't happy with the team. Quite a leader..... I'll take Uribe, even if Tejada is a better player.
  6. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) I’m a sissy. I try to avoid Midway, even though I’m a fan of Southwest Airlines and its stellar safety record. I remember my first landing there. I was coming from Washington National (which has its own approach issues) and when we went into our descent for landing I had a few seconds of sheer terror. I had never experienced a final approach that fast and that steep in anything other than a small plane. Maybe sitting in the rearmost seat had something to do with it, but I was certain that we were going to crash. But when I looked around, everyone else was reading, talking, acting normally and I realized everything must be okay. Then BANG we landed plenty hard. Welcome to Midway. Hmm ok. A few days ago landing at Midway was my first landing there, and it seemed a bit more harrowing than any other landing i've done. First of all, my ears were popping like crazy, hurt like hell (maybe part of the steep descent). Second, you look like your gonna land in the middle of an area of houses for a while, and you don't really see Midway until very late. Third, you land pretty rough on a short runway, and the plane sounds like it thrusts into reverse IMMEDIATELY and at FULL SPEED when you land. Pretty intense I thought.
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) what a good, solid impressive win for us. augustine/pruitt really contained their big man and we were very pacient on offense. I was outside in a blizzard for 2 hours to get floor seats, i'm cold. Defense did a flat out incredible job. This team will be scary if they can consistently figure out a way to just get to 70 points every game.
  8. Illini win 58-48 in what was unquestionably one of the ugliest games in the history of organized basketball. However, 9-0 is pretty damn good.
  9. I officially give up on the Orton homers. If you are stupid enough to say the defense lost a game because they couldn't get more than 10 points of support against the Cleveland Browns from their offense and s*** QB (Orton), I pray for you.
  10. WLS says a 6 year old boy in one of the cars involved has now died.
  11. Based on the damage report, it's a miracle there aren't deaths and/or injuries on that plane.
  12. Apparently it's a Southwest Airlines 737. Damn. The exact kind of plane I flew out on last Thursday. (Ok I'll stop putting myself into this, but i'm a bit freaked out thinking about it, hope nobody is hurt too bad). EDIT: At least 2 cars on the road were involved in the accident, "some serious injuries."
  13. WGN Radio says at least 10 ambulances are on the scene already, although not sure what exactly to make of that.
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Holy s***. Reports are a 737 barreled through 55th and Central. OMG. That's VERY bad.....I just flew out of Midway LAST Thursday.....scary s***.
  15. Good. Get him the hell out of the American League.

  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) The Orioles shouldn't, and better not, trade Tejada unless they absolutely rip off another team. Tell Tejada to shut up and play. The Orioles are currently in a tight battle with the Mets for dumbest bunch of f***s in baseball, so it would make sense if they traded Miggy for a PTBNL and a journeyman from AAA.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) Am I the only one that thinks the Cubs could try and get Tejada? They have a lot of money to spend, an opening at SS, and some top prospects they could trade. Haha, I put on WGN Radio just now thinking that way, and Kaplan, Waddle, and the Flub callers are DROOLING over him. I hope they don't get him, but that's a viable option for the Orioles as a trading partner.
  19. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) You're pretty much it. lol Nah. Come April, WIDGERMANIA will return with force!!
  20. There we go, now the sig is done. Hehe, I love it. This thread is officially not needed, it can be closed.
  21. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) I got you. Thanks a ton, I appreciate it.
  22. Hey, I was wondering if anybody saved the pic of Coop and the 4 starters posing with the AL Championship Trophy. If anybody has it and could hook me up with a link, I'd greatly appreciate it.
  23. I believe he will be listed as 48 when that deal would end, which means he will actually be 58. It's amazing he's still a nice bench player.
  24. The Marlins want to dump Villone, but he's a Boras agent I believe somebody mentioned earlier...... I don't get why we need a 2nd lefty so bad. Cotts is STELLAR and like it's been mentioned, the Angels had ZERO lefties last year and that worked out pretty well.
