QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) Has NIU just fallen that far this year? I remember rooting for them in games when they didn't play ISU (tough for me to do that for many other teams). Heh, they had two solid QB's last year when a few upper teams cannot find one. VERY VERY young team with a ton of injuries....our first QB from last year (Haldi) graduated, and our 2nd (Horvath) broke his arm last week. We put in a RS Freshman kid named Dan Nicholson and he threw for about 330 as we won a big road game at CMU. Last 2 games are tonight at Toledo and a week from today at home against Western Michigan. If we win those 2, we go to the MAC Title game and a Bowl, pretty simple. And last year we went to and won a bowl game while going 9-3, so I wouldn't say we have fallen off, we just haven't beat a BCS team in the last 2 years.

JUAN PIERRE
Pierre is basically another Scott Podsednik, except he doesn't walk nearly as much and gets paid a couple million dollars more. I'll pass.

Comcast hooks us up
That is flat out awesome. Should this be pinned?? I'm sure everybody would want to know about this, and most would want to watch at least some of the stuff.

Biggest dump in the majors
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) What's wrong with Comerica Park. I have been there a few times and I think it is very nice. What do you not like about it? Noooo, that list is just all the parks I've been to, the 3 i mentioned below are the worst 3 (Wrigley, Tropicana, Hump Dome). I actually really like Comerica Park, even if Detroit as a town is awful.

Just me maybe, but where I come from, guns, drinking, and fighting aren't a safe or good combination....

Biggest dump in the majors
Ok, I don't want to brag, but here is my list of parks I've been to: Old and New Parks in Milwaukee Old and New Parks in Cincinnati HHH Dome Comerica Park Jacobs Field The Cell Wrigley Fenway Yankee Stadium Tropicana Field Marlins Stadium Turner Field Busch Stadium Skydome And of these parks, Wrigley is so easily #1 it's not even funny.....with Tropicana 2nd and the Hump Dome 3rd.

KU player suspended
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) No offense, but how did Roy run a dirty program? I assume this was what you are referring to. http://northcarolina.scout.com/2/396061.html This was graduation gifts given by 3 individuals given to a few players that had already graduated and KU's compliance department gave him the ok for. I don't think Roy ran it, which is why I think Kansas basketball is out of control. The coaches don't run the program (other than who is recruited and coaching), the cheating and lying boosters do.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) Which reminds me....Iowa State is so ridiculously close to 10-0 this year it hurts. Loss to Nebraska.....just slipped away. Loss to Baylor.......not excusable for anyone Loss to Mizzou....shut down Brad Smith but allowed 10 points at the end of the game. Yes, you are correct, you could be 10-0. I'm a student at NIU and was at the Iowa State game in DeKalb in '03 that we did win, and at the game in Ames last year we could have won....so I kinda find myself rooting for you guys these days.

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) Michigan has talent in the post this year that is not mentioned in that article. Petway, Hunter, and Sims were bright spots last year. I think 3rd or 4th place finish is reasonable. I would agree other than the Big 10 is so good this year. I think Michigan would finish more like 5th or 6th, but hey that finish will likely be more than enough to get them back into the dance this March.

Biggest dump in the majors
Wrigley Field, it's not even close, and even if I weren't a Sox fan that disliked the Cubs I'd say that......Wrigley is the definition of hellhole.

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 09:44 AM) Tribune Big Ten prediction Personally, I think Michigan is going undefeated and winning it all. Michigan is getting way too much respect in the predictions. Yes, they have a ton of talent, but Amaker has proven to be just like fellow former Dukie Quin Synder (although not nearly as dirty a recruiter or scumbag in general) in that he gets tons of good players, and does nothing with them. But hey, I hope Michigan is real good and makes the tourney, another good big 10 team is nice, and I think the Big 10 is going to be LOADED this year.

Bears' ties to gun range probed
It would be quite a feat if Miller indeed does only miss 1 game with a broken jaw as that is what apparently is going to happen.

KU player suspended
Kansas ran a dirty program even under Roy Williams, so this isn't surprising at all...if a program is dirty with Roy, it will be with anybody. However I'm not going to blame Self.....at that program, there is cheating going on that the coach doesn't even know about and probably could do little to prevent. Kansas is just lucky they are Kansas, or they'd have big issues.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) I'm pretty sure that Ken Jr. was on scholarship at U of A for baseball. (outfield, I think) -- I tried to look it up, but the UoA website is crap. Yeah I'm pretty sure that's accurate, and I think he was actually a real good player for them too.

A-Rod AL MVP
This award was all about offense, unless you think A-Rod's bad defense is more valuable than Ortiz never playing defense. I don't believe that somebody that doesn't play other than 4 or 5 AB's a game should win MVP, but Ortiz definitely had a strong case in these circumstances...

Here's my random post of the day: http://arizonastate.rivals.com/viewprospec...=1&pr_key=43614 That is the link to 3 star recruit and nationally ranked athlete Kyle Williams, who is heading to Arizona State on a football scholarship. Yeah, the son of White Sox GM Kenny Williams.

Breaking news on steroids
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) Can HGH be tested for yet? I bet Donald Fehr fought this tooth and nail. To be honest, I don't know....which is why if they aren't testing for it, I won't rip MLB. But as long as HGH isn't tested for, the game is tainted, simple as that.
-
Breaking news on steroids
Does this plan test for HGH?? Because until that is tested for, the game won't really be clean.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) not gonna happen. Not with the Best Wide Receiver in the Big Ten burning up the OSU defense, not with a healthy Mike Hart, and not with this new and improved Defense of Michigan. GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!! Avant won't even be the best WR in that game, regardless of what numbers I know you will throw at me, Santonio Holmes is better.....a lot better, than Avant (although Avant is a Chicago kid and I really like his game).
