I refuse to say we are "peaking". With the fact we've played this amazing for SEVENTY ONE GAMES, maybe we are just this good....
-
Exactly what we needed to do on this homestand, up to 7-2 and a 9.5 game lead!! Buehrle and Garland's ongoing "who's better" contest is a lot of fun to watch, and crazy Carl as usual coming up with the big RBI's.

More Illini football problems

QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) Thats how you prove you can compete with Thomas for Starting HB!!! I like Halsey and all, but Thomas is way better than him and with Rashard Mendehall in the house, Halsey is now the 3rd best RB on the roster. -
Brian Carlwell and Trent Meacham to Illinois

QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:03 AM) why did Richard Semrau go from a 4 star recruit to a 3 anyone know? Because Rivals is retarted. Use the IlliniBoard for that kind of stuff, much more accurate with rankings and is always the first one to break recruiting news. (And no, I dont run the site or anything like that ). -

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) Do we have enough spots available for these players + Rush + Sherron Collins? Definitely. We had an extra 2005 scholly that we can use on Rush (if not, it goes into the bank for 2006) and Meacham is walking on, so we aren't even using a scholly on him. -
It's a long way away, but if we are going to go here..... If the Sox are playing going into the playoffs like they have the first 70 games, there isn't a single team I think we can't or won't beat.

Some of you need to calm down. Boers and Bernstein hate everybody, that's their schtick, and by all indications from his shoutout the other night, Hawk has no problem with them, so it's all good in my mind. Actually, I find the 2 of them hilarious, but that's just me.

Brian Carlwell and Trent Meacham to Illinois

Meacham was the #29 prospect at PG and a 3 star according to Rivals from the class of 2004, and with a redshirt, he gets 3 years with the Illini. He could key a key role player a la Jack Ingram (although not the same position) for the Illini. Carlwell is raw, but has an absolute boatload of potential, exciting to see him committ, sounds like he loves Illinois too. -
I refuse to call a team that must win 9 in a row to pull within 8.5 games of first a threat, sorry.

7.5 GAME LEAD!!! f*** THE HATERS!! HOORAY A ROW, HERMY, COUNT!!

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!

Big win today. After last night's brutal loss late, to come back and make it 2 of 3 at Petco and 5 of 6 on the trip is huge. Now, coming home for 12 straight at the Cell with a 5.5 game lead, let's see if the boys can really make some hay and take a big divisional lead, man that would be nice. -
Hee Seop Choi is out of control. 2 more homers today, 5 for the series. 3-2 Dodgers going to the 5th. EDIT: Choi goes yard again, 3 for the day, 6 for the series. 4-3 Dodgers going to the 7th.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) The guy is a hacker. Look at his walk-to-strikeout rate. He IS Jermaine Dye. LOL, you read my mind. Hmm, well then can I have a 3rd basemen instead?
-
I don't want Lowell, he's suffering from the new steroid policy (yes I went there), is in his 30's, and just signed a big contract IIRC.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) He went yard off of a hanging slider thrown by Joe "Mr. Mexican League" Borowski. Preston Wilson still sucks and he's no where near worth what he's making. He's much better than the start he's been off to, and I don't trust dead yet....but I hope he proves me wrong and makes it a non issue.

Preston Wilson went yard today.....he'd look awfully good in a White Sox uniform....

QUOTE(YASNY @ May 22, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) I'm glad you realized that was a joke. Welcome, my friend. I'd be a rich man if I had a nickel for everytime I was jokingly told to "f*** off", "go to hell" etc..... And thanks. -

Being a recently new member, I gotta say you guys do a better job making the newbies feel welcome overall than any other site I've been to BY FAR. Awesome site, keep up the good work. -
He's been a lot better than I expected already, and with him and AJ getting better and better together, I'm very excited to see what the count can do now throwing strikes and working quicker. Great work by him yesterday.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 21, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) Romero intentionally walked Junior Spivey to face Chris Magruder with 2 outs. Bases loaded now. What the hell is a picture of Lew Ford looking disturbingly pretty doing on your avatar?

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) The Marlins are my second favorite team, and I was wondering if anyone else followed them. I love the approach the team has and thanks to Oz, we finally have it this year. Pierre and Castillo at the top of that order is deadly and then they have Delgado, Cabrera, Lowell, and Lo Duca and that is one hell of a lineup. I'm with you there. They have been really similar to us this year in that they have had great pitching, and an underachieving offense. Difference is we have been a lot better in the close ones, and the records reflect that. The NL East is pretty balanced so far this year, but IMO I expect the Marlins to end up winning that division and finally ending the Braves reign.

Amazingly, Crain had given up ZERO earned runs (and I believe only 1 run period) coming into this evening. Quite a different story tonight, already given up 2 with a chance for 2 more.

El Caballo brought us 2 key pieces to this puzzle, and has been doing some Cub and now Twin killing, so I have no hard feelings at all. Congrats to Carlos on a big accomplishment.
