Or we could go with any number of more popular and well liked plans than the one the Heritage Foundation cooked up. Hell you can even make the conservatives happy by calling it "repeal and replace"...with Medicare for All. Also, for all the screaming I hear from both parties that this is a capitalist society, they don't seem to be very interested in making corporations pay for access to the asset that is the US economy. Seems pretty socialist to me.

Ideally more like a 1,000 year curse this time.

All the best people, like the guy he fired from managing his campaign.

Is Lincoln Henzman someone they might consider promoting earlier than the AS break? He's been really good at Kannapolis, and is advanced age for the level. Is he someone they might challenge and see if he's starter material?

So what you're saying is political purity is okay as long as it's the centrists administering the litmus tests? Because if I said a similar thing about the class war being important, I'm certain the words "progressive purity police" would soon follow.

Where's Larnach projected to go? I was hoping that the White Sox might be able to get him if they get Madrigal (or honestly even if they don't, he has good power numbers with under 20% Ks). It would also be crazy if the White Sox ended up with Madrigal and Hankins, considering they were both in 1-1 discussion at points this year.

Seems like stating the obvious.

That's not a profile that I trust this org to develop. Questionable hit tool with too much swing and miss has not done well in this org.
-
Or you could pull a Bregman and move him to 3B if you don't have one by the time he gets up.

Is Bart worth taking that high? Is he the next Buster Posey?

Who goes 4? Madrigal?

White Sox Prospects of the Month, April 2018
Dam8610 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
Why would we care anyway? 1) Moncada by himself seems like he will win that trade for the White Sox. Kopech may also be able to pull that off. If Basabe also hits, that's icing on the cake. 2) Publications don't always get it right. I know I'll be excited about Basabe if by the end of the year he's a 22 year old CF mashing AA pitching. If he is that and he's not Top 100, I think that would be a mistake by the publications. -
It's not acceptable, but you're the one saying we need to elect Democrats to keep Republicans out of power at all costs. Maybe some of those costs are going to have to be changing strategies and reprioritizing issues to attract voters and win elections. You recommend insanity, I'm looking for a better solution, so that maybe someday we can deal with those issues, and still make things easier and better for those people between now and then.
-
I'd prioritize him over Call. Then again, Micker and Basabe could get midseason promotions if they keep hitting (maybe even Rutherford, too?), and Booker should get a promotion before either of them do, so even if Robert stays at WS all year, there should be a spot for Gonzalez there no later than midseason.
-
I would sadly say to them that it's not working to deal with those issues right now, so let's focus on dealing with other issues that will lessen the inequality and disenfranchisement you're experiencing, and eventually our society will get to a place where those issues can be dealt with. I empathize with the struggles of the disenfranchised, but, again, insanity is continuing to try the same thing and expecting different results. I don't like leaving those issues alone, but they're not winning elections and they're actively driving voters away. The Democratic Party has been okay for decades with doing very little for minority communities while expecting their votes, why is it suddenly a problem now that a large block of the base sees a problem with the strategy and messaging and wants to change it in the hopes of making some actual progress?
-
There's clear connection between everything he's saying, you just don't want to see it. And clearly we need to prioritize economic issues to get rid of those voter ID laws, because a big reason so many voters get disenfranchised under those laws is they can't afford the costs of the voting ID, and thus far the Democrats' focus on social issues had stopped exactly 0 of these laws from passing. Insanity is continuing to try the same thing and expecting different results, like that strategy you're advocating. The Democrats' biggest mistake has been this fear. If they disavow corporate money, the money will come from the people. You should know that from the fact that Bernie was outfundraising Hillary at points in the 2016 campaign with no PAC money. That's not to say no PAC money is acceptable, just not the kind that's coming from huge corporations and the 1%. Doing this will also result in at least one political party with the will to write a law that does away with the Citizens United decision.

Gonzalez, Robert, Basabe, Booker, Rutherford, Polo? Also, my preference right now is Madrigal followed by Bohm. I think one of the two at least will make it to 4, maybe both. I'm intrigued by both.
-
That's also 750 PA. 500 PA right now would be his numbers times 4.
-
He and Zavala being promoted would resolve several logjams.
-
Personally I think Madrigal's ceiling is higher, but I understand why most wouldn't feel that way. I appreciate the general grade as well, but I was more looking for tool grades on Bohm. I imagine Madrigal is something like 60 hit 40 power 70 speed 60 field 55 arm. If I had to guess for Bohm, I'd say something like 55 hit 70 power 40 speed 50 field 60 arm? Does that sound too high or low anywhere?
-
I'm really hoping the Sox pick Madrigal if he makes it to 4. MI with the speed and arm to stick and a grade 60 hit tool coming into the draft and expected to rise through the ranks quickly is too good to pass on. He also reminds me a lot of Jose Altuve, and there's a small bit of hope that he could become that. But a 50th-75th percentile outcome would still be quality ML contributor. Does anyone have any grades on Bohm?
-
Soria, because no draft pick was lost to acquire him and he won't cost the team 4-9 spots in the draft by having a good season in a meaningless year. You may scoff at that idea, but 4 spots in the draft can be the difference between drafting Carlos Correa and Kyle Zimmer or Alex Bregman and Tyler Jay.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that Moncada cutting his K rate significantly has a much higher likelihood than him having a 1.636 batting average, considering it's impossible to average 1.636 hits per at bat.
-
And the scary thing is he has a ton of room for improvement still. Moncada's K rate is currently 37.6% and he has an .882 OPS. If you reduced his K rate to 20% and gave him roughly average results for him across those plate appearances (22 PA 8 H 3 2B 1 HR 3 BB), his line would be .351/.440/.667, which shows how important it is for him to cut that K rate down and how ridiculously well he's performed offensively when not striking out.

The ones speaking out about Trump are the ones retiring. That doesn't take anything besides an ability to observe. I'm also not saying there's nothing they can do, the leaders of the Republican Party absolutely (currently) possess the powers to do the right thing should they find the will, but I doubt they'll find the will based on their behavior to this point. They certainly could prove me wrong and I'd welcome it, but I expect it as much as I expect Trump to agree to an interview with Mueller. Also, I have a hard time seeing how any person who believes in socioeconomic inequality at the level prescribed by the most recent Republican Party platform qualifies as a "good person". I'll agree that there are a lot of misguided people tricked into voting against their own interests by the Republican Party every election, and perhaps that's the group to which you're referring, but I can't get behind people who advocate for the horrible policies the Republican Party wants to put into place being called "good people".
