  1. The players union wants guaranteed money. Period. Our 350M means nothing. we were at 250M and got outbid by 50M
  2. I think it is right to dislike Kenny for various things he has done in the past, but as far as today, I'm basically seeing someone who looks legitimately blindsided. If he found out from a tweet while Hahn was being notified by the agent, then really what was KW even a part to, here? At all? Hahn runs things. Ownership sets financial limits.
  3. i drove 100 miles round trip for 3 Floyds yesterday.
  4. J Michael Robertson is an intra-bathroom-tile grunge spot.
  5. I guess I live...near this? I've moved to near Rosemont, but i have never heard of this place...This is a Sox-centric bar of some sort, i take it?
  6. Rosenthal is saying that the owners of the other two teams are not as convinced that Machado is worth it..as much as the Sox ownership is
  7. Everyone and their kind grandma is misreading this Rosenthal tweet
  8. I've often thought about why Merkin and Van Schowen etc. got fed the 7/175M info. It might be so that we can top out at 250M and have that seem like a late bump up to win, and have that be the local-news story
  9. Padres were brought in like cousin oliver at the end of the show's run. Manufactured to help Lozano save face. Goodnight, team
  10. 'deferral' of course in German translates to 'a whale's vagina'
  11. We've never seen Jerry with total (future) payroll this low. We've always been trying to win year to year with future payroll already spoken for. And Sox have had big payrolls before, the only difference this time is we'll commit a big percentage of that to one player
  12. my buddy found Frank Thomas Jr.'s boarding pass left behind once in the airport and gave it to me since I'm a big fan. It was Las Vegas>Chicago travel
  13. Padres rumors phrasing suggest they have to do creative structuring.
  14. Machado to Sox finally reaching its destination point. Bout time
  15. There's nothing more deflating than reading these twitter posts here and then checking the follower count and they have less than Me
  16. interestingly, in spanish he makes it sound like it's 'mannys preference' but in english he's listing it as 'order of highest offer to least' Lost In Translation, etc.
  17. Now that we're seeing these arbitration deals happen, it kind of marks a last landmark thing for the players union. They were fighting and fighting for players to not to have to accept these cheap security deals. Now that Nola and Severino did that, maybe there's a little more impetus for Harpchado to fall in line with their top offers. That's one read. Also if they are fighting now to preserve what they can for union-mates in later years, then we may be in for more waiting.
