We have guys who have hit before who are no longer hitting. That points to a personnel problem, not a problem with the hitting coach. It's time to overhaul aging portion of the team. Also, Ebert's awesome.

The Sox are trying hard. We're just not that good offensively. We need some of those handy .375 OBP types. Other-Sox sure have em.

Kotsay still hits righties. We need more lefty bats in there. Meanwhile, Dye isnt hitting much of anyone. Have Kotsay take Dye's place in the big platoon.

I had always heard about this but never saw it. Way too flat an ass.

Since no one is taking Dye's perspective (completely guessing this might be it..) But players slump. From the player's perspective: do you take away someone's atbats when their average slides for a few months? Plenty of vets get to play through big slumps. Obviously we need to do what we need to do....but from the player's point of view, they want to play - they dont want to feel like anyone's knocking at the door to take time away from them. Obviously we want the player to produce, but now we have two RFs who cant hit...not just one!
