  1. The Sox obviously value velocity less than other teams. Pitchers routinely lose a couple MPH when we acquire them. You care about velocity more than anyone in this site. That's why it makes no sense for you to cry about Mena.
  2. Adults are talking. Go stalk some Padres.
  3. You're the one that talks about nothing but velocity, not me.
  4. Yeah, teams really wanted a LH reliever with a 6.9 era over 59 innings. I'm sure Getz phone was ringing off the hook.
  5. Panicking would he calling up Schultz, Montgomery and Thorpe and then trading Robert DFA'ing Horn is not panicking. Besides, if you're going to panic, starting 3-22 seems like a decent time to start
  6. Mena is a RH that throws 92 and has inconsistent command. Of all the people on here that shouldn't care about trading a kid that doesn't throw hard, it should be you.
  7. He turned a bad farm system into a top 10 system while trading 1 real asset - Cease. I don't think he's done a good job. I also realize he has very little to work with.
  8. The Braves trade wasn't interesting? We traded them Aaron fucking Bummer. What did you expect?
  9. What prospects did he DFA? Bailey Horn isn't even top 30 in our farm.
  10. Yeah, so he can be blamed for rushing prospects. That makes sense. It would be criminal to introduce your solid prospects into this s%*# show. He could keep Colas and Sosa up, but it's pretty clear there's something wrong with Colas' attitude and Sosa screams AAAA. Either way, it's doubtful they're difference makers.
  11. He inherited a historically bad major league team with a bad farm system, a historically cheap owner and 2 valuable assets - Cease and Robert. What's he supposed to do?
  12. There's literally nothing he can do about it. There's no way for him to improve the roster.
  13. The Super Bowl era started 57 years ago. The Bears are a historically bad franchise. If you want to count the era where the Bears were beating up on the Dayton Triangles, Rochester Jeffersons and Rock Island Independents, go for it. I doubt anyone else is going to find it relevant.
  14. Fields made the OL look a lot worse than they actually are. Williams will break Bears records.
  15. They went to the World Series once, when there were only 16 teams in the league. I'm not trying to s%*# on the Sox, only the idea that Chicago is somehow above this. This city is home to the Bears, Cubs and Sox. All 3 franchisers are loser franchisers and known as loser franchises.
  16. They never won a thing during that stretch and the franchise has always been known as a loser franchise. Chicago White Sox - "at least we aren't the Clippers" The Cubs success has nothing to do with winning and everything to do with Lakeview becoming the premier neighborhood for postgrad Midwestern transplants.
  17. When I grew up, the Sox sucked. When my dad grew up, the Sox sucked. When his dad grew up. Fhe Sox sucked. We've always been one of the worst, if not the worst, organizations in sports.
  18. At this point, you just kind of have to fire somebody, right? Manager, hitting coach, bat boy...
  19. This was always weird and creepy as f*** to me. Why do you care who he's having sex with?
  20. Burger, Anderson and Garcia have combined for a -.3 WAR this year. The faster we can distance ourselves from that era, the better.
