Cease To Padres per Passan
Last year we were a team going nowhere with a trash farm system. This year, we're a team going nowhere with a solid farm system. I'll take it.

Thorpe really reminds me of Brad Radke.

Cease To Padres per Passan
God damn it, I love Cease, but now I have to root against him simply because Caulfield is so damn obnoxious.

Tim Anderson signs with MIA, 1Y/5M
Frank was 38, coming off a year in which he played in 34 games and was replaced by Jim Thome. Thome put up 4.8 WAR in 2006 on .598 SLG.

It's a fluff piece. If you believe 10% of what's written in those articles, well, I'm sure somebody would like to sell you a bridge.

A lot of clubhouse responsibility falls on the veterans of the team. Both Keuchel and Grandal come off as real assholes and it seemed pretty clear to me that they divided the clubhouse. I wouldn't be surprised if the chemistry and effort are much better this year.

Now that TA is gone, what is going to replace the quasi gangsta fist thing players did when they got on base?
After the treatment of Frank Thomas, Sox fans should realize they're not going to get the benefit of the doubt when criticizing black players, especially when those criticisms include "gangsta" and thug. You would think a fanbase associated with Bridgeport would be more aware of this. Apparently TA cheated on his wife or something. I suppose that's unique among professional athletes and he should face the ire of people who have nothing to do with his personal relationships.

Blatant racism is more important than baseball wins.

It's like White Sox fans are auditioning to be Red Sox or Phillies fans.

You realize being a fan is voluntary, right?

Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
Health is an issue for a couple of them. They have to make sure Montgomery and Eder are healthy before being promoted.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Originally I was worried about how this would affect Bridgeport, but Bridgeport will be fine. I actually think Bridgeport's proximity to Pilsen and Chinatown do more for the neighborhood than the presence of GRF.

Outside the Box: Trade Cease+ for Daulton Varsho+
He'll be like 31 when the Sox are ready to compete. Great idea!!!

Official NBA 22-23
He made every single decision building those teams aside from drafting Jordan. If Michael had his way, they would have kept Oakley, not hired Phil and not drafted Kukoc. Krause may have been an ass, but give credit where it's due. My opinion of Jordan couldn't be any lower. He's flat out a terrible human being and his relationship with his ex teammates is petty and pathetic for someone of his stature.

Tim Anderson Free Agency Discussion
I still think he was hurt last year. If you put him on a team with a solid clubhouse where he can just focus on baseball, I'd expect him to rebound.

Luis Robert hires Scott Boras as agent
This is a nonissue. I'm not sure why we wouldn't trade him. We're probably 3-4 years from competing.

Cease To Padres per Passan
God damn, this is the most tedious, circular, worthless discussion I've ever read. You fuckers need to be more productive in life.

Sox sign former Royal LHRP Tim Hill to 1-year, $1.8M contract
2027 is really optimistic.

Sox sign former Royal LHRP Tim Hill to 1-year, $1.8M contract
I would guess they recognize the team is years away from competing and they're trying to fill the roster with decent human beings that can change the team's culture.

Cease To Padres per Passan
I'm not convinced the Sox were aggressively shopping Clevinger. MLB has been full of tradeable players with a worse history.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto got $325 million 12 years from Dodgers (+posting fee)
28 years ago? Jesus man.

When you realize that the Dodgers are owned by an investment firm made up of several billionaires, the "owners are cheap" argument is just dead. The game as a whole just isn't big enough, and doesn't generate enough money, to allow multiple franchises to operate in the same way. America's third most popular sport doesn't have infinite revenue. A small group of Sox fans have projected their hate for Reinsdorf in a way that's made them completely delusional, and they're seeking out marginalized sports writers to confirm their bias.

Hip Hop and gang purchases? Man, that's racist. For the record, no gangs are associated with White Sox apparel. In fact, the appeal of Sox gear throughout the years is that it's been considered neutral in relation to gangs. Anyway, the Dodgers can afford to take these risks because they're owned by a multi billion dollar investment firm. Jerry and the Sox brass ain't that.

KC has had 4 winning seasons over the last 35 and finished in the bottom half of attendance all but 2 of those years, despite winning a world series. I added them for a reason. The league is broken.

For fan interest and participation, consistently fielding competitive teams is more important than winning a world series. The majority of the league has to operate in small windows every 10 or 15 years, then fade away. There just isn't any incentive in following baseball if you grow up in Cleveland or Kansas City or Pittsburgh, and that's reflected in baseball's dwindling popularity. Baseball has a problem.
