  1. Good job working the count and getting an RBI, was surprised he didn't hit that ball harder, got in on him somewhat.
  2. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 05:46 PM) Cheer for good performances in the minors. Kopech was great last night going 8 scoreless innings with 0 walks. Burger was 5-5 with a triple and two doubles. Jimenez was 3-5 with 2 doubles and a homer. Collins homered. Imagine how bad this rebuild would be if our farm system were not where it is right now? Starting from scratch would be absolutely awful. Yea for sure was actually adding that to my post while you were replying!
  3. Personally I think this year will be the worst just because next year you're going to see the fruits of the rebuild start to blossom in both the upper minors and MLB roster. This year, other than probably Moncada and Lopez late this summer, and some fun from Leury and Yolmer and Kahnle earlier, there really hasn't been much to cheer for. But 100% honest, I thought I'd be over following this team by now and instead I'm finding myself paying more attention than any of the previous last summers, even when the Sox were still hanging around .500. It's just really exciting what Hahn has been able to do. If the Sox hadn't managed to load up on all this young talent it would be different, but man, they are loaded. We'll see how it pans out in the next 3-5 years.
  4. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 04:19 PM) Any word on Tito Polo? can't find him.
  5. Eloy highlights: https://twitter.com/bhallwfmy/status/888216258616983552 Kid has a huge frame, wow. He might have some issues with off speed stuff due to his longish load but then again his pitch recognition skills and zone command are evident in his slash line. Sox should let him get a taste of AA in August if keeps this up.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) Bad news: W-S lost their lead Good news: means more Eloy Can't believe the Sox tortured us with Moncada up last night, then their moronic f***ing long inning prevents him from getting a 4th PA before the monsoon, then they have the audacity to have a scheduled off day today. At least the farm is as exciting as I've ever seen it.
  7. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 08:47 PM) Kopech pitching seven scoreless innings with no walks and eight Ks, throwing 62 of 85 pitches for strikes the most encouraging development of the night. This is the guy who can become a true #1 with star quality. I think he's become a bit lost in the shuffle but there's no doubt that he has had a great year. Doing what he's doing at his age in AA is incredibly impressive.
  8. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) I would say at best it would be start of 2019. I think he probably should be in WS right now, he is too polished of a hitter KAN wow, damn.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 08:21 PM) That math sounds off 10/11, bruh
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 09:16 PM) Burger is 4-4, a double double and triple What's his ETA? At best middle of 2019? If all goes well he finishes next year in AA, right?
  11. In some ways I'm more excited about Eloy than Moncada. Moncada is the sort of player, much like Cano, that will (hopefully) put up a "quiet" 6 WAR because he's a solid defensive 2B hitting 285/350/500 but Eloy is a guy that could put up Judge like numbers with the bat.
  12. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 03:33 PM) I'd hang on to him and see how far they can stretch out his defensive versatility in the spring. Bingo. He's more valuable as a super sub that can cover 3B, 2B, and SS and play all well. He's controlled through 2021, isn't he? If so, keep him. He could be the supersub on the next playoff run.
  13. God this team is going to lose so many f***ing games the next few months. Let's get Lopez up, we're going to need another reason to watch.
  14. This kid's swing is a lot like Cano's, incredible hip turn.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 08:33 PM) Does it really even matter I'm about ready to just trade him for whatever.
  16. Rodon reminds me somewhat of Wilson Alvarez. Good and bad.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 08:18 PM) And the thing is...I'm not sure if you could tell from your seats, but he looked absolutely calm as can be up there. I think it's safe to say Moncada has "it".
