  1. I don't mind Danks taking the money, MLB has a strong union and god knows there is enough money floating around the game to make sure the players get a fair shake for the value they provide to the owners. I do mind him sucking ass and taking the wind out of the sail of the team. Every start he's made he has gotten absolutely lit up where you are just PRAYING they hit it right at some one so he can get out of it. I mean, if you're one of the other 24 guys you see it, plain as day. I don't think most fans have an appreciation for the insane competitive zeal and work ethic it takes to make it as a pro athlete. Danks put in countless hour of rehab to work to come back and you know he didn't have to do any of it he could have easily half assed it, never built up any arm strength and basically just dared the Sox to cut him. But he didn't, because there's no way a pro athlete can just turn off that competitive fire it doesn't matter if he's getting paid or not. But even for a pro, Danks went above and beyond trying to come back from this devastating injury. My understanding of the injury is that just coming back and pitching 600+ big league innings is unprecedented. Do not think Johan Santana, granted he was older, made it even 300 post capsule surgery. It's time to use some of the LaRoche money and just write off the rest of Danks' salary and DFA him.
  2. This is putting me in a bad mood. Probably gonna have to turn it off as I"m still at work.
  3. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 06:57 PM) I legitimately do feel bad for Johnny though. Guy was having a decent career, then BOOM, injury. Too bad, but he's gotta go. I can't really feel sorry for him given his career earnings.
  4. I don't care who the f*** they pitch at the #5 spot anymore. NO MORE DANKS.
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 06:38 PM) I've been a Danks defender but yeah he looks horrible. Way different than the 2nd half last year. If you lookup how Johan Santana's career went post capsule you'll see he was out of baseball a few years later. Danks is on the same path. It's a s***ty injury.
  6. I honestly cannot stand pessimistic hawk. Every single bad thing that goes wrong he gets so pissy. Just chill out and enjoy the game dude. Gonna switch the broadcast the dude just rubs me the wrong way at this point in his career and I used to love him.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) rain>riots Well, for the non homeless!
  8. What is it with these damn Baltimore trips? Two years in a row now.
  9. Well that sucks for everyone. My condolences to the Robertson family. Losing a parent in your late 20s or early 30s sucks. I speak from experience. Something very jarring about a life ended (most likely) before even reaching 60.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 09:35 PM) Turner stunk. Fields game tying grand slam. Sanchez two more hits. Sucks for carlos as he is the odd man out but all he does is keep producing. Kudos to him.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 11:50 PM) Quintana has had a good start to the season? Try the last 3 years man... Q's even underrated by his fellow players. SMH. IKR. STFU Donaldson it's not so easy to hit Q.
  12. Put this on the bulletin board Q That was Donaldson letting it fly post game. feels good man, for once it's the Sox leaving other teams second guessing themselves and reeling.
  13. Q's velocity is as good as it's ever been and he's walking even less guys than last year when he dramatically cut his walk rate. This guy is basically a top 10 SP in MLB over the past three years nobody knows about it other than sox fans and some saber nerds. Thank you Yankees for having such a 40 man roster crunch and being cheap as f*** for letting him go. It's amazing how good he looks when he has a defense behind him that can actually make plays.
  14. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 11:19 PM) Good to see a couple of more good defensive plays from Adam Eaton. His defense in right has been real impressive. He's been the best defender in baseball according to eye test, DRS and UZR. He's uh, slightly surpassing expectations.
  15. So remember when Gibbons just decided to pretend he didn't have a bullpen and just left an obviously tired/hurt Estrada in to get to 118 pitches? Here's his SP postgame: For all the s*** I give RV, he's never done something 1/2 as stupid and "I'm trying to get fired" as that BS. Way to protect your players, moron.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) There ya go Rollins! I would put Webb in for the 9th, I trust him f*** no, leave Jones in and be done with it.
  17. Ok no walks buddy. Make 'em hit their way on, got some cushion.
