  1. What a gun by Colas. And Andrew Vaughn needs to get off this team.
  2. Why the f*** is an MSU athlete in the booth? MUTE.
  3. Good god Vaughn has absolutely no power. That ball should have been deposited at least against the wall.
  4. No, not at an MLB level when he's out there once a year. The fungos that you're taking in CF can't possibly prepare you, even an MLB level athlete, for balls slicing into the corners. The play Judge misplayed was a mile high drive right into the corner, without experience in warmups and nightly that's going to be a tough play playing out of position. Similar play happened with Sheets the other day when he was back at 1B. Just misjudged the spin. It happens.
  5. .2 fWAR! In over 1100 PA he's now up to -.7 fWAR! I'll say he's done a good job at least turning himself into a capable backup. A guy that you could carry on a decent team as a the backup 1B and RF with a balanced roster and that you'd start against RHP a few time a week to rest a regular. He has a 119 wRC+ against RHP this year. You can carry that guy as a backup even with limited defensive value, if any. But we insist on playing him every day and shoehorn him into RF instead of just playing the guys that are actually capable of contributing to the next good Sox team at their primary position. Even the Yankees aren't immune to trying to force a guy's bat into the lineup as we saw with Judge's adventures in LF last night. But it's Aaron FUCKING JUDGE!
  6. We are gonna set the all time players used record, probably by August.
  7. In his worst season he put up 2.2 fWAR, so solid starter production in 100 games. A smart team would have had a backup not injury prone (so not Adam Engel) capable of stepping in and filling in for 50 games and producing .5 WAR or so making overall the position a strong one. Luis Robert is the absolute last problem with this team, injuries or otherwise. It isn't his fault that other players got hurt and/or sucked.
  8. If there is one thing I'd be happy about seeing him leave it's that a player like that doesn't deserve this.
  9. "flush it" is usually reserved for good teams going through a rough period. For us it's something we say as we head into 15 losses in a row.
  10. Sadly I saw our last new member joined in April. The lack of enthusiasm for talking about this club is a bummer.
  11. Sure but the 1,1 is basically a cheat code to get a guaranteed good draft right off the bat in your rebuild. It's one of my go to OOTP strategies and it plays out well IRL too as seen with the Astros. The Sox' inability to tank into that spot in at least one of the rebuild years was regrettable.
  12. We lost about 15 projected WAR just losing the #1 pick next year and dropping to 10. The new rules, that I'm sure dipshit JR helped create, just fucked us hard. Super hard. Teams this bad always prior would get a guaranteed lock starter at worst (9/10) out of that 1,1 spot. We just got buggered raw.
  13. Well if we get an owner willing to speculatively spend and arguably the best GM in the game over the last 20 years, we'll have a shot!
  14. Is this a parody account? In sum those were bad signings that wasted money and cost us opportunity to sign better players. There's no evidence we'll sign useful FA, we rarely have on the South Side. And stop trying to have some "gotcha" about "darlings" or "fans wanted this". WE ARE FANS. We have 1/10 the info the Sox do on everything. Stop trying to say because the fans thought something was good or bad it was good or bad. No, it's the results the SOX get ON THE FIELD. Everything else is bullshit and not worth arguing. We aren't hear to legislate fan opinions in hindsight.
  15. We had a top 3 farm and a decent 75 win team and still peaked with a couple good seasons. I dunno people have short memories I guess.
  16. Let's assume (I know) that we have 30 WAR worth of players sitting down in the minors that will all matriculate to MLB within three seasons. Let's assume we aren't going to be signing any real starter quality players or one at best in that time frame. Cool, you just built a 80 win team and you're out of guys to trade to get more prospects. I mean, what are we doing here? You're not even going to get 20 WAR out of the minor league system in that time period, probably over the ENTIRE three seasons. We're so fucking far away from competing it's like a mirage in the desert to even imagine we are within eyesight of it.
  17. John has quickly gone from "alright new guy sounds OK give him a chance" to "this is perhaps the worst White Sox decision of all time, in a crowded field to pick from". Brutal. I get it's a hard job, but simply not becoming a meme within the first couple months wasn't attainable for him.
