Sox Spring Training notes
Nothing in his profile suggests he'll ever hit but as you noted they might as well trot him out there and see if he can at least play a cromulent 3B, as that's the only way his bat will ever play as a regular. It was a really poor scouting decision that led to acquiring him so I hope if he's hitting 180/230/300 in late June they just cut bait and rotate in someone else.

2/23 Sox vs Royals, no TV
Bro we just set the all time loss record and are projected for 50 wins. We can save the sanctimonious critiques of the downers because we are historically awful, ya know?

Schriffen does it again...
First rule of announcing for anybody not named Hawk is don't make yourself the story. Great work John.

2/22 Sox @ Cubs 2:05 PM - Baseball is back!
Semien was written off as a guy that would never be able to play even an adequate SS by this org. He then went on to become by all accounts a solid defensive SS for half a decade. Not sure how you got trade him out that but perhaps I wasn’t clear enough. Guys improve until proven they can’t. We aren’t in any window other than suck for a couple years might as well try a baptism by fire and a couple offseasons of hard work and see what he does.

Honestly I don’t want to have a semien 2 here. Give him a couple seasons see how he performs and if he shows improvement. We don’t have anything to lose and the young guys on staff can get over it imo.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Careful the last member of the Rick Hahn defense force is ready to clap back here.

2/22 Sox @ Cubs 2:05 PM - Baseball is back!
Not saying he’s arod but I’d imagine if he has a strong enough arm he can stay at short until he’s 27-28 and then head over to 3rd. He is unlikely to have great range at SS but neither did some good ones like Uribe either. We will see I think the speed of the game at SS at MLB is too much for a lot of guys so we will see if he’s even below average there. If he’s hitting 240/340/480 that’s still a 5 war player regardless.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
So it sounds like we have a chance to rid ourselves of JR sooner or later. Great information in this thread.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
As an MSU grad you should know Ishbia is a clown that bought Mel Tugger, ruined the Suns and now has his vulture eye on scavenging what is left of the Sox. We are cooked. We are a joke. I hate being a sox fan. I can't quit it and as the vultures circle we can only watch the carcass rot.

Mike Clevinger is back lol

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
T-Mobile gives MLB.tv away otherwise hell no. Even with the free product I will be lucky to watch 200 or so innings this year unless we have a miracle strong start.

SoxMachine Podcast focusing on Recent James Fegan Story about Advancements.
CUDA bro. Vidya has been an afterthought at NVDA since 2020 with crypto and now AI. They have optimized and created GPUs for LLMs and other big models for years. It is why a 5090 is currently about 2x what it would cost if they were simply catering to gaming. NVDA has gained all the losses from the Chinese hoax created with (go figure) NVDA chips. Anyways go Sox!

SoxMachine Podcast focusing on Recent James Fegan Story about Advancements.
What big data does baseball need? Part of the beauty of the sport is discrete math. We already have linear weights and almost perfectly correct run prediction off event analysis. I would guess even the data on spin rate and location and outcome of every pitch throne the last 5 years can be analyzed using sql. You don't need AI because we have repeated events. Maybe AI could suggest combinations against certain types of hitters but again seems like math that doesn't require AI. Right now AI is good for novel pattern recognition in things like fluid dynamics on Mars or Pluto or diagnosing hard medical problems or creating shortcuts in writing, animation and coding. Things that require orders of magnitude more data points than MLB creates. How bout the Sox simply start listening to their data guys as a first step!

Opening Day 26-Man Roster
Man Lee really finished last season poorly. Looking at this ZIPS is depressing. Maybe he can make a leap but he's got a long way to go after looking fairly promising early last season.

Sox Sign Joey Gallo to minor league deal, NRI
Just a heads up, I'm going to go ahead and finally block you as I just can't take the sheer inanity of it anymore. It's like someone says I like turtles and you respond with the price of tea in China.

First post in the history of our long tenure here I might actually agree with you. Look at the top threads on the forum right now and it's like the season is months away instead of starting this week in earnest. It's really just sad how JR has killed the vibes before the season even starts. Now, maybe things get off to a good start and we don't totally suck. Then perhaps we'll get some excitement or at least tepid enthusiasm back into our Sox fandom. But until that happens I don't see much to talk about or discuss and that is too bad.
