Draft Kings sets Sox O/U at 49.5 wins
The "slugger" hit for a wRC+ of 113 in the OF. He's below 100 at 1B. Maybe the "slugger" should pickup that OF glove again. He's a staggering -70 (-7 WAR roughly) runs below average as a "fielder". But a DH that hits league average isn't a MLB player. I'm not even really arguing with you. I just can't stand this bum. We have a lot of bums.

ZIPS, which is usually weighted a bit more conservatively, had them at 14! 😂 Couldn't find an easy STEAMER projection.

And we have the last two decades of White Sox institutional failure weighing everything down. We ain't exactly known as a draft and develop franchise.

Steamer is weighted towards old performance too much for my liking. We'll see what ZIPS says. We finished with negative 6.3 fWAR last year. I don't see us magically gaining 20 fWAR in regression to the "mean". The mean has changed and the true talent of guys like Robert and Benintendi has dropped. Just one example, Steamer thinks Andrew Vaughn is a 1.2 fWAR player. Now I would take the under on that next year. Dude has been worth -.5 fWAR over his career.

Exactly. If you think we have 7 wins coming in "positive regression" well subtract 5 right off the bat as well. +2 net. Plus we're going to have a horrific bullpen so we are likely to under perform pythag again.

I'm not seeing any reason to take the over. We've signed nobody and lost our best player. Who exactly is a big bounce back contender? We're utter trash. Chicago sports is pathetic.

Perused SOSH this morning for a good half hour. On paper we got a fair deal and perhaps even an overpay according to some pretty tuned in Red Sox fans. This is a baby step towards the next good Sox team. There is much that needs to happen before that, but we have cleared one bar.- Crochet Traded to Boston
f*** no. He needs to make about a gazillion more good moves before we're winning more than 80 games in 2026.- Crochet Traded to Boston
Nice. Good move Chris. Many more are needed.- Dick Allen, Tommy John up for HOF Consideration
They've turned it into the HOVG and that utterly sucks.- Kopech: Dodger trade was a blessing
Eh, I'd say this is true of quite a few pro athletes. Probably at least 1/3. Even when I got into low level college ball you had guys that were on the team because dad wanted it or they felt obligated to play. Yea most of the team loved baseball but even at that level when you're spending 20-30 hours a week on it between practice and games it gets tedious. So a pro athlete can get trapped in that mindset like Kopech where it's become just a job they aren't really enjoying. There is some interesting new sports psych that is going into a "value neutral mindset". It's focused on getting athletes to look a their results over a long enough time period to not hyper focus on each outcome, good or bad. For Michael, who is a known headcase, this would be hugely beneficial. Easier said than done of course.- Kopech: Dodger trade was a blessing
He makes the Chicago Bears look like the Dodgers. Really King s%*#. Imagine blaming the employees and not the fucking owner. I guess when your paycheck depends on something you'll say anything.- Kopech: Dodger trade was a blessing
lol here is the reason for the losing culture:- Sox sign INF Nick Maton

Jesus christ please don't ever negotiate anything for me.- Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
The dude's lower body is transformed from when he came into the league. Every pitcher is an injury risk but with a surgically repaired elbow and his power and length he's as good as bet as any to give you two really strong years before you really gotta pay him. We're talking like 360 innings, 10 or so fWAR and that all important ace come playoffs.- Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
As I said at the time. He had like a 99th percentile season. I'd love to keep watching him on the South Side but the smart thing to do is sell at absolute peak value. Of which he is at. He has much more value than Cease. Cease is a nice pitcher. Garrett right now is one of the 3-5 best pitchers in MLB.- Austin Slater Signed to MLB Deal
I wish I could place a prop bet on negative fWAR for this latest dumpster drive.- Sox name new bench coach

Yup. It's scary. It's like he's using this forum as a sounding board for the worst ideas to come out of this FO.- Revisiting the Bummer Trade
Exactly. There's good points made on both sides in this thread, but your point stands alone as the most relevant. We're so far away from where we want to be. - Crochet Traded to Boston
