Looking at MLB.com we have 9 guys currently on the 40 man as pitchers that are currently not in Chicago. Seems like we don't need 9 guys on the shuttle squad. I don't know why you wouldn't try and just move one of them rather than DFA literally any position player prospect.

Pretty sure the true talent level, as represented by the various projection systems year over year, going from 90-93 to 78-81, was the reason for that. Tony was just a long for the ride and symbolized failure, but he wasn't the main cause, no manager ever is.

IIRC the Sox started last year like 3-11. The 2024 club seems quite intent on taking on that challenge.

at worst something like grade 2 achilles or hamstring at best something like calf strain out 3-4. Didn't look great. Not horrific, but not good either.

There's like maybe 50 players in MLB that you give the green light (or any light other then dead red) in a tie game with a solid defensive catcher behind the plate. We have one of those guys. We play like we have a half dozen. It's been this way since Renteria. We're forcing things that are not there roster wise.
