I've watched like 90% of the innings live. It's been brutal. We get a hit like every 6th batter. It has been quickly brutal, which is nice. At least JR will suffer on concessions while we can get on with our day.

They both have three years left and already a TJS under their belt. Kopech is a bad temperament in addition to risky arm imo.

I'd probably look to deal both guys (assuming they have had good seasons relatively) this deadline. Their arms have had a lot of usage and injuries already and although I'd wish both guys well and another thousand MLB innings each -- I just don't see it. It's a good problem to have if it happens. Crochet is clearly on another level he could really get a haul if he's having a '22 Cease like season.

I think Bobby Thigpen can sleep easy.

I'm thinking with Clevinger and Garrett we now have one of the better 1-2 punches in the League. If we can get anything out of the other 4 guys in the starter mix we'll have a chance to lose most games 3-2 on the way to 61-101.

I'm digging this Kopech. Just goes to show sometimes you don't know how a guy will respond to a situation until you try it. Our org for decades has failed to put guys in position for success. Maybe this and with Crochet as starter will work out, for once.
