3/30 Game thread. Sox at Marlins 5:40 CDT
Tristan Peters was the next Banana selected, as the Milwaukee Brewers snagged the Canadian centerfielder in the 7th round. Tristan started his collegiate baseball career at Chandler Gilbert Community College in Chandler, Arizona, where he became and avid line dancer while he destroyed baseballs and won National Junior College Gold Glove for his work in centerfield. Tristan then took his talents to Southern Illinois University, where he continued to rake, hitting .355 with 55 RBI’s and 53 runs scored in 60 games played this past spring. He’s been a big part of the Bananas 26-4 start to this summer, playing a phenomenal centerfield while slashing .320/.465/.460, with 14 RBI’s, 13 runs, 16 walks and only 6 strikeouts in 17 games played. Tristan said it was a whirlwind of a day following the draft and then a truly special moment once he was selected. “It was really surreal,” Tristan said. “The whole day I was on zoom with my advisor just waiting to see if anyone wanted me. Milwaukee gave me an offer, I thought about it for a couple seconds and then said yes and had to wait a full round to see if they decided to go with someone else or if I would actually be drafted by them. My dad found out from the draft tracker before they said my name and he started going crazy. I wanted to make sure I actually heard my name live before it was official, and once that happened we were all jumping around screaming. It was an incredible feeling and a moment I’ll never forget for sure.”

why does MLB.tv look like it's a video of someone's monitor showing the game?

Prepping him for something that won't even happen until this time next year assuming the best case with Roch's health and development. Dumbass fucking team.

Put up time...
If the pitching hits its bottom 25th percentile projection we'll easily loss 100 again. The only significantly improved area of the team since Getz got here is the IF, and that's mostly just the product of a guy the previous regime drafted and trading a once a generation SP that the previous regime drafted. I gave Getz like a C+ or B- for the offseason, but as you said, one or two key injuries (vasil, baldwin) and suddenly that decent offseason looks putrid sans Muri.

This team today with that lineup is 110 loss bad. Go Blue. f*** JR.

White Sox sign Reese McGuire, Korey Lee won't make MLB roster
Lee sucks but it's also the absolute best week possible to try and sneak a guy through waivers. I guess good job by the Sox keeping a fringe guy around that may still have a little juice in the squeeze.

Crochet Trade Outcome Tracker
As a big sport fan you see a lot of really amazing talent but you very rarely see excellence. In my life on teams I root for it's been probably like MJ, Megatron and Barry, Derrick for a short time, and then like Sale and Garrett and MB and Frank. I really appreciate Sale and Garrett, even if ultimately the franchise wasn't able to do anything to capitalize on their talents. Same with my poor Lions superstars. If anything it might amplify their excellence to have come out of such horrific environments.

@WhiteSox2023 don't forget Cannon!

Only 1/162 but hard not to see how bad this team is if they can't find any SP. Shane Smith is a nice story but he's still very much up in the air as anything other than a back end 4 or 5th starter. Command is a real problem for our staff, not just control, but command -- we throw a lot of meatballs right down broadway, "non competitive pitches" but instead of wild, right down the middle. Neither is any good of course. For the OF, losing Robert and Baldwin is crazily a big blow to the true talent out there. I haven't really seen anything from Acuna that suggests has anything more than a 1 WAR player. But again, it's 1/162. Go get'em Saturday.

3/26 Opening Day: Sox@Brewers, Smith vs Misiorowski, 1:05 CHSN
I predicted 70 but man, I might think we finish closer to 60 after today. This OF is not even AAAA.

Schriffen is such a goof ball. At least Jason was also usually witty. Schriffen is just a goof ball.

Oh no we suck again!

3/26 Opening Day: Sox@Brewers, Smith vs Misiorowski, 1:05 CHSN
We don't have a staff that is going to be able to pitch around defensive mistakes. Two in one inning, I don't blame smith too much there.

I don't agree with any analytics that say playing infield in in that situation.

good competitive ABs, promising start.
