So, it's not fair to RHB that they have to run an extra 5 feet to 1st base. It's not fair to LHB that they have to throw right handed if they want to play anywhere other than 1B in the infield. "Fairness" arguments don't hold any water as "fairness" as a goal is silly. Now, if you want to talk about aesthetic reasons I'm open. There is an argument that advanced shifting, based on data that simply wasn't available even 15 years ago, makes the game worse for viewing.
