  1. I'm about at my limit. Bad baseball is like chronic pain and it slowly eats away at you. Ain't gonna let the Sox fuck with summer.
  2. Us fans don't get paid to make the decisions. All of us are part time GMs at best. Of COURSE we get to change out opinions on moves after the fact. We're not getting fucking paid to make them at the time we are fans! I was lukewarm on the Kimbrel trade but now in hindsight I'm horribly down on it, even if Madrigal never produces another MLB hit (he's got what, 2800 more to 3K?). We're allowed to consider more data. I've changed my position on TLR for example. Only a fool stays steadfast in opinions and beliefs that have been proven wrong by the passage of time.
  3. beauty and the beast there in the good seats behind the right hander's batting box.
  4. vaughn has one of the most technically perfect swings you'll ever see when he's on.
  5. it's not fair to lopez that he wasn't given an opportunity to start this game. players see this shit. if dallas isn't gone tmr morning, something is deeply wrong in Chicago more than just some slumping bats.
  6. Frankly we've bad downright bad. Only some sequencing luck has us at .500 instead of 5-6 under.
  7. lmao, an actual thing that was written on BCB: An off topic rant. I apologize in advance, but this needs to be said. I didn't watch today's game. I worked late Pacific time, and by the time I realized the game was in progress it was already something like 11-5. I wouldn't have watched it anway. mlb.tv sometimes plays the same commercials over and over, every half inning. Yesterday the commercial they selected to play every half inning was a group of lovely young ladies getting dressed up to go out on the town and have fun, promoting Las Vegas. Nothing else matters but partying and money is the message we can take from this. I personally found this offensive, yesterday of all days. MLB should declare a day of mourning with no games played. But at a minimum they should recognize the gravity of the situation and not play these stupid commercials on how to spend your disposable cash, that most people don't have anyway. Our backyard fence borders and elementary school. I take joy in hearing those kids out playing during recess and lunch. And every pop I hear now from a car on the street or wherever, makes me jump. MLB could do something. We can do something. Personally, I think a general strike is in order for about a month. Maybe that would get people's attention. This must change. It's not freedom. It's insanity. End of rant. If you want me to go, I'll go quietly. Take care, Cubs fans.
  8. gotta be a training thing given how many soft tissue injuries this team suffers year after year.
  9. Spending any amount of FA money on relievers unless it's just "fuck you" money where it doesn't affect any other financial decision -- is beyond stupid. I don't always or even at all agree with Josh Nelson but his tweet about how the Sox do well as an org with cheap relievers yet signed a bunch of older, aging expensive ones anyways -- was spot on.
  10. well he's got a 130 wRC+ and is on pace for about 4 fWAR, so not likely any time soon. Would love to see it tho.
  11. just ain't hitting the same when wins are to get slightly over .500.
  12. eh, i'd prefer to keep vaughn's bat in the lineup honestly. it's on vaughn for not calling it but it's also not a big deal because he caught it. make or miss league. good win, go win again tmr.
  13. I don't want harrison anywhere near this team but that's on vaughn, call the damn ball.
