  1. It is but we'll see if he can keep it up. He has def traded some contact for power, which I didn't think he could do. A .119 ISO with his contact rate is very impressive. If he can start pulling the ball a bit more this summer he might be able to sustain that.
  2. The guy taken right behind Nick -- Jonathan India -- looks like a good player as well. Sox did well with their pick as did Cinci. Jury is still out on Kelenic and I think his FV has already taken a bit hit because he's a mediocre corner OF at best. There's no way he's ever a CF and he has a long way to go to get to good in a corner as well. His routes are really bad.
  3. it was a great idea from Hahn and he managed to get back a premium talent in Rutherford. Hasn't really worked out how we envisioned but now Rutherford is an asset the Sox can use to improve the MLB roster this year if they want. Sox sold high on both Kahnle and Soria, which was smart.
  4. Sox regained #1 in the FG power rank. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/fangraphs-power-rankings-may-24-june-6/
  5. He's having a nice season and it sucks to give up what looks like a potential very good 3rd starter or worst case solid 4th but Lynn is a legit TOR guy right now. I'm still 50/50 on the trade long term it all depends on if the Sox can get an extension done with Lance.
  6. Hopefuly they appreciate him in Tacoma, as that's where he'll be for the foreseeable future after being optioned there this morning. What a complete disaster.
  7. ironically Rutherford might be the guy going out this time.
  8. There isn't a snowball's chance in hell he takes the QA if he finishes with around 180 IP and an ERA below 3. So yea, offer it to him.
  9. Yea that's what I was thinking. His stock has fallen a bit, might be a good time to try and buy at a bit of a discount.
  10. Offer Rodon the QA and take the draft pick and then do everything you can to lock up Lynn and Giolito. I wonder if Giolito will take a discount to stay in Chicago. He seems like the type that just might, but you never know and money almost always wins.
  11. Totally. They need to extend Lynn somehow tho. Otherwise pitching looks mediocre.
  12. Sox can win the division without those two guys, that's how deep they are and how mediocre the division is: but to compete for a WS they absolutely need those guys healthy.
  13. One of the best parts of being cableless in the PNW is that none of this exists out there. I listen to quite a bit of sports talk radio but it's 90% Seahawks mixed in with 8% mariners and then 2% national shit, at best. I can see if I was still a cable subscriber and had ESPN all day at work that I'd get annoyed, especially at the Mets shit. The Mets are such a horribly run franchise and have had real scandals (well beyond the Sox) that somehow get glossed over everytime they manage to hover around .500 for awhile. They def benefit from low expectations.
  14. He's getting it done. Kudos to him. Hope he proves all his doubters wrong, including myself. His defense has improved to tolerable as well and tolerable defense with a 110 wRC+ or therabouts from 2B is a solid starter. Really looks like the Sox nailed their rebuild draft picks.
  15. Good win, if not for some bad BABIP luck Sox might have scored a couple more. Nice to get Jose a day off and Engel back and already paying dividends in CF. Cease, maybe the best stuff he's ever had. Was filthy. Don't stop now boys!
