It would def be nice if he could stop getting hit by pitches. It's not easy in season at any level to keep stopping and starting.

I hope in a few years we're no longer considering acquiring a C+ prospect for a one year FA signing a big win.
-
If the Mariners want to overpay for Vargas let them. He's probably JAG. Decent starter, nothing more. I'm not convinced he can play a MLB 3B and that's a problem.
-
He can't play a passable SS so he's useless. If Colson comes up and Baldwin you have three guys that can all play it better.
-
Sosa can't play 3B and he isn't a 1B either. He needs to just stay at 2B for now. We're kinda in a pickle here. I really don't want to give up on Sosa too soon he's got too much upside as a bat to just throw into a trade because of a perceived need to get Colson in the lineup this year. I really don't have a strong opinion on what to do other than don't force anything.

I just love seeing some left handed young hitting finally. Love how he went down and pulled that hanger.

I know a healthy HR jog when I see one and that was a healthy HR jog. The back isn't an issue. Agree 100% it's time to see if he can sink or swim. You look at his last week of production and that's the sort of talent that at one time had him a borderline top 25 guy. Not many left hand hitting SS that have 70 grade raw power.

lol now they IL him

He throws a lot of cockshots

Played whole series a man down.

both are true in this case. good news bad news sorta thing. but we'll take it even if he's rob deere at like 210/270/430 that's a 3 WAR player assuming he can play an average or so SS.

Yup give will his flowers here. I love that confidence in his youngster.

In our park in summer everybody should be hitting them. we can't seem to find the right mix. we had it for most of the early and middle aughts.

There's only positives relative to historical awfulness, we're 30th in fWAR for position players at ZERO. Only the Rockies are worse at -2.3. We're 23rd in pitching fWAR at 4.7. So we are 4.7 wins above replacement at basically the half way point. I'll be generous and assuming we finish with 10 fWAR as a team at the end mark. That's about 35 fWAR away from being a team that can compete for a playoff spot. 35.

The dumpster dives: Capra (negative fWAR), Palacios (negative fWAR), Amaya (negative fWAR), Taylor (negative fWAR), Noda (negative fWAR), Maton (negative fWAR), Jankowski (negative fWAR), Austin Slater (.1 fWAR), Dalbec (.1 fWAR), Tauchmann (.7 fWAR), Thaiss (.7 fWAR). Not seeing it myself.

I'm a bit sentimental with managers so I do like what Will seems to be doing inside the clubhouse but whoever the f*** is filling out these lineup cards isn't a serious person. We have some people here that excuse but it's not excusable. You can learn to win and lose as a younger player with habits and we need to start figuring out how to find some guys that set the example by being good at fucking baseball -- not whatever this s%*# is we see from Taylor and Capra and Rojas and others.

It's crazy that Baldwin languishes in AAA on a night that a competent OF probably makes it a 50/50 game instead of a 75/25 one. A key hit instead of Taylor's DP and who knows. Or, maybe Baldwin in right as a good athlete that has shown versatility making a pinch start (you know, when you need that) makes a play.
-
It's incredible. I thought Taylor might have put a charge into that one in the 7th but not only was it foul it was about 280 feet. We're trying to play a brand of baseball that just doesn't exist anymore. You have to have slug. You fucking know it christ we've been over it going on the last 3-4 seasons.

This day in WS history 2025 June 27th they lost a miserable game against a decent but not great Giants team on the way to 110+ losses once again.

Every ball player knows the ball finds you. Especially at the MLB level where you have cavernous parks, slicing rockets and the eyes of thousands on you. Starting a 1B in RF is asking for trouble. In fact, it's sticking your finger up at the baseball Gods and hoping they don't decide to shove it up your ass. Good fucking luck. People say TLR was the start of this stuff but honestly he's just downstream of it. RV used to do the same stupid ass s%*#. It's a White Sox thing. We don't respect what usually works and we sure as s%*# don't have any new ideas either. Throw that fucking paper bag down. This team deserves it.

I was watching at a bar chatting with some friends so couldn't really post for a minute but this entire game has been an example of how BAD TEAMS LOSE GAMES BEFORE AND DURING A GAME. You start with an awful defensive lineup, you start with clowns like Taylor that will come up in key spots and THIS IS WHAT YOU GET!
