It boggles my mind that a hardcore fan (who really likes Jose and watches him) could watch him every day for the last month and think he's contributing to winning. You don't need a spreadsheet for that. Jose has looked quite a bit like Konerko circa 2013. A guy that can no longer cover the inside corner and is completely screwed as a result. I love Jose Abreu but he's been worthless this year. Don't even get me started on his defense.

Jose is now at ZERO fWAR. Good luck getting anything more than an A ball lotto ticket for him. Really sucks, Sox probably could have moved him in the offseason for a B level prospect, a legit back end top 100 guy.

2.6 fWAR in his first 130 odd games in MLB. That's not awful. Most of those were before he turned 23. It helps to be a power hitting 2B. Not a lot of those out there.

Not bad: the power is there in the youngster, hopefully the rest continues to improve. You have to think it will given his youth and obvious ability.

Just watching the game now was out and about earlier that was a nice almost DP from TA and Moncada. Wasn't really at all a DP ball and they almost had it.
