  1. Sometimes I wonder if anybody on the Sox pays attention to how the pitcher is actually pitching. That guy couldn't find the zone and yet they are up there hacking away early in the count? Why? That is when you should be zoning in on your pitch. Anderson got his he just missed it but WTF were Leury and Yonder doing?
  2. this guy sucks Sox should light him up. He is behind every hitter.
  3. lord that was a hanger and he hurt it.
  4. This guy has a 77% fly ball percentage? LOL, light him up.
  5. Just looked on Fangraphs the Sox have actually gotten about 2 fWAR out of their rotation so far which is freaking amazing. If the defense could pick it up a bit these guys' stats would look a lot better.
  6. Coming into his last start, which granted was awful, he looked like a perfectly cromulent 4th starter. He's earned a longer look even if he bombs today. I'd expect him to manage this shit Baltimore lineup OK however. His stuff so far actually looks solid. His command really failed him last outing.
  7. that's what I'm saying. Madrigal has a high floor, probably 1.5 WAR or so backup. Well, what's his ceiling? There's obviously reasons some scouts and publications questioned it. Frankly until he proves he has an elite hit tool doubles and triples won't mean much in A ball. He should be pushing for a promotion to AA by July given his draft status, age, and ability. If he's not, well progress isn't linear or some Hahn'ism.
  8. I know it works better with home runs than doubles. If he hits 290-310 at the MLB level and goes 300/350/430 with good defense at 2B it won't really matter but that's a long way off.
  9. the baseball equivalent of a guy shooting jumpers in an empty gym. I mean, he's alive so that's good. Not much more to take from it.
  10. On a related note: thank god the Red Sox insisted that Devers was off limits. He's hardly produced at all in a much better situation with much less pressure. Still very young at only his age 22 season but he's looking closer to a 3-4 WAR player at best and will probably settle in around 2-3 without a power surge, which could happen. But I can't see him developing in Chicago. Moncada was mostly a formed product approach and swing wise, defense needs work and I do feel the Sox set him back asking him to move but whatever, he's hitting and he is making enough plays at 3B for now.
  11. It is absolutely incredible and a huge testament to TA that he managed to develop within the Sox' bottom tier coaching system.
  12. I'm just happy the club is watchable on an nightly basis again. Yea they've had some stinkers, the pitching and defense stinks, but the offense is fun, the younger guys like TA and Moncada are playing well and there are some wild cards like Cordell and McCann and Manny that could also contribute to the next good Sox team. Other than the awful weather and Eloy's injury and defensive problems it's been a solid start.
  13. God damn I'm sick of these "springs". Awful weather follows this team around like they are Linus or some shit.
  14. He's got this year imo to show some power. If he has to repeat AA next year at 23 he's going to (hopefully) be passed.
  15. Rutherford is running out of time to stand out in a crowded Sox OF system. I can see him being a C+ throw in if they trade for a starter in the offseason or next summer.
  16. Hopefully he tears it up and makes the Sox consider calling him up in August skipping AAA.
