  1. QUOTE (venom4789 @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 04:25 PM) What is wrong with shark. Is his velocity down. Or does he just suck now. Im so happy we didnt extend him. Glad we grt a compensation pick at least. Only good thing is how horribly semien is playing on defense otherwise people would be crying about the trade. No, his average fastball this year is 94.2 and he's sat between 94-95 each of the previous 3 years. Usage pattern is just about the same.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 04:23 PM) Anyone else hate playing the same four teams 19 games a year? And getting our asses kicked? If you want a shot at the playoffs you ought to be able to beat teams in your division.
  3. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 04:04 PM) What the hell is wrong with Samardzija? All I've got from his stats is that his K-rate is way down from previous years. Walk rate isn't up, not obviously unlucky, but he's not striking people out like he did last year and that's turning him into a rotten pitcher.
  4. S***. Walked into the kitchen after the DP thinking "ok, 2 outs no one on this is a quality start" and then Samardzija Samardzija'd.
  5. I thought he got that off the end of the bat and it just kept going. Dude.
  6. I guess there are 2 constants in this universe, the White Sox giving up a first inning run and Comcast cutting out for no reaosn.
  7. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) i didn't think about that, but you do have a point. but why even make an announcement. This one's fine, GMs are supposed to occasionally talk about their roster to the press and since the Sox are losing but not 100% out of it its his job to answer questions and say "we're still in it, no we're not selling, we have confidence in this roster" even if he actually is listening to offers on guys. Plus this week is the draft so he's going to be talking to the press a bunch for that too.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 07:15 AM) http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/...icago-white-sox This is fine and what a GM is supposed to be saying right now.
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 12:59 PM) I thought Noesi would get DFA'd after he totally f***ed up that great stab by LaRoche by slacking off on getting to first. To me, that was an opportunity to send a message. 1. This team doesn't send messages. 2. Like it or not, we need someone on the roster to "throw 5 innings 1-2 times a month when we give Rodon the day off".
  10. 7 straight strikeouts for David Price. Ok what's the record they havent said yet
  11. man you'd like to see more than that from Jose.
  12. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 09:08 PM) If the White Sox had a choice between Iglesias and Avi Garcia in the Peavy trade, it's a damn shame they picked Avi. Although I wouldn't have said at the time Iglesias's offence could be this good. He's had better coaching than he'd have had in our org.
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) Miguel Cabrera went deep. He does that. If John only gives up 2 ER today, wouldn't we have all taken that? If John allows 5 ER how mad can we be?
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Thankfully there is only one year left on that contract after this season. Unfortunately, in 2017 Melky's contract takes its place. And next year we have both.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) Miguel Cabrera went deep. He does that. If John only gives up 2 ER today, wouldn't we have all taken that? Now 4.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) Miguel Cabrera went deep. He does that. If John only gives up 2 ER today, wouldn't we have all taken that? Now not happening.
  17. sad thing is that broke up a shutout for Danks that he was kinda earning again.
  18. Price had Alexei beat on 2 fastballs then threw him an 0-2 slider and Alexei destroyed it. 1-0 Good guys.
  19. Bonifaci has now done more for tonight's offense than Cabrera would have.
  20. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 03:27 PM) You can keep the snark because your adding and subtracting didn't have the infallible predictive value you purport it to have when last year's estimated financials were released. You were doom and gloom last year and the Sox were estimated (understand all of your adding and subtracting is on estimated numbers) to be the eighth most profitable team in baseball. That was as the 24th best team. Since you have it down to a science, we can make a sig bet on the Sox increasing their payroll from '15 to '16. You can use your adding and subtracting and I'll just take a blind stab and say they will. If they added Samardzija next year their payroll would have at least come to $140m without trading someone. I'm willing to say they'll be under $130m as a sig bet unless they make the playoffs (at which point I will call for a Ventura extension). What say you?
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 03:47 PM) Do you not think that they are going to offer Samardzija something like 5 years $100 million? They traded for him so that they can keep him long-term. I don't think an offer like that gets it done but if they are willing to extend to sign Shark, why wouldn't they spend that same money on someone or something else? He turned down 5/$75 from the cubs. 5/$100 seemed like a reasonable deal until he started this year terrible.
