  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 25, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) They publicly said that they spoke with his parents, was that not enough for you? Based on how it has turned out the answer has to be no, so now you ask what other mistakes went into this process and what should be the punishment. Someone stuck their neck out on the line here.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) This offense looks so overmatched. Is this rock bottom for it? Avi on the DL for 15 days during this road trip might well make it rock bottom.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:57 PM) No it was stupid to enable the pos. I don't mind the concept of giving the guy another chance, but in the process you're supposed to do your homework. Given how rapidly this came apart you can't tell me that the team did their due diligence and have me believe it.
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) Just got home. Love Swirsky compared to Hawks. Good play by Gordon. And 4 runs already? Alexei hot-dogged it on a play that should have been a double play, only got 1 out, that was followed by an RBI single and a Smoak home run and now Donaldson just destroyed a ball for the 5th. Plus Garcia's out again.
  5. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) Hopefully Hawk is out longer than anticipated. I'm okay with my ears not bleeding for once. The sound of the ball off the bat is going to damage your eardrums in a few minutes.
  6. I have no idea where that ball landed.
  7. With Reyes up? That's f***ing impressive.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:39 PM) It's quite puzzling. Need to do what's best for him and that's clearly to get some rest. I'd say it was puzzling except I've seen this script before. Just about 1 year ago, in fact.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) Hits keep coming. At least I can't point to any examples in the last 360 days of a player actually being hurt, needing to sit down for a couple days, not being allowed to sit for a couple days, and winding up on the DL. A manager is allowed one of those every calendar year, right?
  10. Garcia pulled after hitting in the top of the 2nd on Monday. This is again starting to seem like one of those "should have sat down for 2-3 days when the first injury happened, did not, keeps hurting it, and winds up on the DL" games.
  11. Surkamp could have been a cheap option to replace Duke if Duke was tradeable at the deadline, but otherwise first lefty in the pen has not been a problem.
  12. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Send a message Ventura. Bench Alexei in the middle of the game (like now). Shift Beckham to short and put Gillaspie in at 3rd. Defense would simply go from Bad to garbage and it's not like this team is gonna score 4 runs in a game anyhow. Went the whole homestand without doing so. I know you get called a "meatball" and stuff for supporting this kind of bald-faced action, but it would be nice to see publicly that something happened as a consequence for that play.
  13. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) If the attendance data you are referencing support your statement, then the Sox should move. Perhaps Chicago simply cannot support two teams? That sounds like the logical follow up to every point he's made in this thread but when I've pointed that out that's the one detail he hasn't responded to.
  14. QUOTE (Condor13 @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:27 PM) Rodon is missing a start for the s*** No he's missing a start because he's a rookie and is going to be limited to about 150 innings this year and because we have 6 games in the next 5 days.
  15. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:27 PM) Put Rodon in the rotation again, DFA Noesi, call up Beck. Why?
  16. Well at least for the last 2 games we've been efficient about digging the hole.
  17. and we were almost out of it and instead 2-0.
  18. Alexei that was def. a bit too fancy.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 25, 2015 -> 04:29 PM) Released. The woman he assaulted was holding a baby. Genuinely wonder if this is one of those mistakes where someone vouched for him and that person should be fired.
  20. @CST_soxvan White Sox at Jays, 6:07, CSN: Eaton cf, Beckham 3b, Cabrera lf, Abreu 1b, LaRoche dh, Garcia rf, Ramirez ss, Soto c, Bonifacio 2b. Noesi P
  21. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 25, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) at the current rate, I expect the White Sox to be sellers, not buyers. We've got a whole, much longer thread for that, so let's just let this one be on the topic it focuses on.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2015 -> 03:45 AM) I was just thinking it's really hard to like this team. It generally falls behind early, the hitters won't take walks and their approach at the plate is very annoying. Do you guys agree with me or is it just me? This team is hard to love, at least for me. The only time I love this team is when Robertson is pitching for some reason. Agree or disagree on the likeability of this club? Those games during their winning streak were fun, we had games where the teams were going back and forth and you actually saw the white sox fighting back after being down. That's happened a bunch of times this year and that's kinda exciting. That's probably the positive for watching them. Also can get a bit excited to see Rodon's games. On the other hand you've got a strong case that this isn't a very watchable team. As stated many times they're sloppy as can be, watching a circus isn't all that fun. There's also no one doing anything special statistically - last year Jose Abreu was extremely watchable, Sale and Quintana were quite watchable, even if they had weakness around them you could tune in and see something special. This year none of them are doing anything particularly impressive. So we've got a losing team that fights back occasionally but is struggling in almost every aspect of the game and is sloppy in the process with no one performing like a star and young guys who have a lot to learn so they're not impressing yet. Not exactly must-see TV right now.
  23. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 24, 2015 -> 10:46 PM) Think I read on here that his WAR numbers came back to the positive side , not sure if that was because of his D , offense or a combination of both but I wouldn't classify him as a disaster in RF. Avi has been a below average fielder and a below average baserunner this year. He's been a slightly positive player because he's been effective with the bat.
