Tired of waiting on Muslims to condemn terrorism? Get the "ICondemn®" App!

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) I completely agree, but the question is HOW? Right now we have no way of stopping radical Islamist attacks in Europe because of the ease of transportation across borders. All I'm asking is for the non-radical Muslim leaders of the world to stand the f*** up and say something! Condemn these acts and radicalism in general. Clarify the teachings of the Koran on a global scale. They simply refuse to do it out of either fear, or agreement. How do you all propose to address this? No, they do it all the time. It's not exactly hard to find this. One Two (even Iran in that one) Three Four Buzzfeed style list of 46 examples Condemnation from Hamas. Summed up well by Brookings Institution fellow "“Each time a terrorist atrocity takes place, the condemnations of Muslim mainstream figures are barely registered." The fact that you don't hear these is not a testament to them not existing, it's a testament to the fact that 2 particular extremes, both of which basically want war, don't want you to hear about them. The true radicals in the islamic world don't want them published, and the true radicals who keep starting wars in that area don't want to hear about them.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 01:56 PM) My narrative? I was on your side of this argument until a couple days ago. And a few attacks over decades IS different from one every couple weeks! Pakistan, Sydney and France have all happened in the last month or so. There was a terror bombing against African Americans in Colorado a couple days ago and we hardly noticed.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) i read for hours yesterday on him. i remember him and the Turing machine, and how he was the most important part of the unknown reasons the allies won the war. but the movie took many liberties, as all movies do. i needed to know more si i did my researched. and wow, how he help in many ways. like i said how he helped the US and his aid in helping to breaking the Japanese enigma machine. in the ending of how some are saying in his death or was it murder or something else. Dude, German Enigma machine.

QUOTE (venom4789 @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 01:10 PM) all the anouncers were pulling for the redsox in that series. I loved us sweeping them. Game one was great when we crushed them, you could tell berman wanted to go home half way through the game. I can still hear the "Oh no" from game 2 when Iguchi's ball went under their 2b's glove.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 12:57 PM) Could see LaRoche maybe winning a bench job to back up the infield and platoon with Gillaspie if Bonifacio has to play center for a period of time. I think they're planning for depth at Charlotte as much to keep Charlotte able to win and sell ticket as to have people to call up to the bigs. Semien is traded, Micah and Sanchez might both be in the bigs, Saladino might see the big leagues at some point this year, they genuinely need some extra bodies at Charlotte in the middle infield.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) Lol @ data framing to fit your context. There's also no proof or explanation of the numbers as they've laid them out. Crud, didn't paste the correct link but it was available at the 2nd. And the fact that you're LOLing is equally refusing to look at data on the grounds that they don't fit your context.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 12:04 PM) Great, and when the Cubs don't come close to even making the playoffs, the person who made the ridiculous World Series prediction should lose all credibility as an expert. No one ever loses all credibility in our media for making constantly incorrect predictions.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 11:10 AM) You mentioned a couple instances over decades. We're currently experiencing Islamist attacks on a weekly basis. Link to original document Image source They do note that the "desire to create mass casualties" is a specific quality of islamic related terrorism that isn't there in many of the attacks on things like immigrants or specific religious groups.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 09:34 AM) i know, i was leaving a lot out of what i was writing. the film only skim over what he did to help. no mention of coming to America to help break >>> and other things he also help in breaking other codes. there were several other gays working in that group. the there was a memtion of a person who also was part of the Cambridge 5, the biggest group of spies. lots of great stuff. A lot of people who know the history of the man actually didn't quite like how they portrayed him, they supposedly went overboard on the "awkward genius" level with Turing but most people seem to suggest that he was a much more sociable person than portrayed.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 10:07 AM) I'm sorry but this is all kinds of bulls***. There are so many different sects of Christianity, and some of them are racist/prejudice/violent, it is not the fault of the rest of them for not controlling the bad ones. The word that gets me out of there is "Destroyed" because that implies to me our usual technique of just blowing everything up in reply, which continues to not work. Also worth stressing is that the number of people speaking out and not being noticed is quite high.

QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) I guess. I just don't think them, or really anyone, is a front runner for the division let alone a shoe in for the AL pennant. Well clearly there's no shoe-in for the pennant, but "Picking the team that won the division 4 years in a row" is an easy pick that only people who really pay attention will question. Plus, it has a solid chance of being right anyway.

QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) I don't get all the Tigers hype. Win the division a few years in a row and you get that kind of hype.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 05:21 PM) I mean, I guess the surprise of the attack and the getaway car being there and ready could explain that. But jebus Christmas, this girl was holding people hostage in a store surrounded by law enforcement and helicopters. How did she get out?!?!? My wife's cousin lives in Paris and they are forcing everyone to remain indoors. She said it is crazy Lots of reports said the other 2 came out shooting. That's a pretty solid distraction.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) The 2nd round of the playoffs is 11 days earlier next year? QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 02:27 PM) I don't understand the question? Wait, I didn't understand the statement either. Next year the semifinals "aren't" the Rose and sugar bowls? -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 01:49 PM) I swear if the Bears cut Marshall they're the dumbest f***ing franchise in the league. Cutting him for what? For speaking out and being emotional when the team and franchise is going down the tube? SO TERRIBLE! He's an incredible talent and has been worth every penny. Worth asking a question...let's say the Bears trade Cutler and go all-in on "rebuilding". What would have more use to the Bears, Marshall or a ~4th round pick next year in that case? Clearing out that cap space and adding a future pick could be the right move if they dump their QB without a replacement that can help them compete now. -
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 01:28 PM) I think we may use Dayan Viciedo as a RH DH/1B/occasional outfield spot/bench-bat if he's not traded. It'd make some sense if he was actually worthy of being a "bat".

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 12:06 PM) So the next two years the playoff semifinals will be held on New Years Eve because the Rose & Sugar Bowls refuse to give up their New Years Day slots. Nothing like a huge sporting event in the middle of a workday afternoon and then during everyone's New Years eve party. The 2nd round of the playoffs is 11 days earlier next year? -
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jan 8, 2015 -> 10:30 PM) I just tried the same videos on IE, and same issue, so doesn't look like a browser issue. Could a virus be causing this? Maybe, flash player supposedly does have some issues, but if it doesn't work on anything try uninstalling and then reinstall flash player?
-
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jan 8, 2015 -> 08:52 PM) Ugh, tried all 3, didn't work. Have no idea what the issue is, the video's just don't want to play. Uninstall and then reinstall chrome?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 8, 2015 -> 12:51 PM) I cant think of a director (or directors) that hit the scene with such a good movie like the Matrix only to follow it with as many duds as the Wachowskis have. And somehow studios keep writing huge checks to them V for Vendetta?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 8, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) Most definitely, but I am not sure expansion is the way we get a new home for a MLB team, at least in the immediate future. I think it's more likely we see the A's or the Rays move out of their current location unless there was some deal struck with either team that I am not aware of. I do think Charlotte has to be at the top of the list. I know Montreal wants a team, Vegas is always brought up but I doubt that and other cities could be San Antonio, Indianapolis, Memphis and I really wouldn't know past that. Charlotte should be considered heavily with favorable weather, growing population, a thriving economy and perhaps the Knights serving as an example that baseball interest is there. I always hear that Portland is a great baseball town and could probably support a team. -
We'd get snow days for blizzards and serious travel issue days in NW Indiana but very rarely got cold days. The one example I can remember is a day that it was cold enough that a pipe burst in a hallway, closing that hallway and damaging a transformer in the process. The school was open that day but only like 1/2 of the kids showed up. A week later there were a few flurries around noon and they sent us home, the snow then stopped. There was no earthly reason for them to close early other than "We got that many ****ing complaints last time".
