In short, they wanted to avoid the possibility that things would get to that point after just two years. Every one of your points here strikes me as somewhat reasonable, and possibly worth considering. Here's the part where you demolished your own argument: Not only did it not shine any dignity on you given your choice of language, but despite being asked for examples, you couldn't provide any, it's just how you feel about them.
