Los Medias Blancas vs. Los Angeles 8/4/12

Jesus Christ At least we robbed Trout of one. -
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) You would rather have the government decide how you live? That's exactly what you are saying. It was never supposed to be the role of government to control your very life and death decisions. It is very unfortunate that too many people cannot deipher the line between you deciding what you want to do with your life and your government deciding it for you. (Wanting to comment, but pointing out that I'd reply but this is not the thread to drag this up is the appropriate thing to do here.)

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) Can the Sox win this game? I've seen some cookies up there. Sweet cookies. Yes we can. It's tied and in the hands of the bullpen. Will We? No idea. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 10:03 PM) Why was it even necessary to bring Gavin up there? It'd be really nice to be up 1 here. -

Wherever it was originally posted I don't recall but here's seemingly the real story, on the record. Jesse Jackson' Jr's wife has come forward with a detailed description of the Congressman's battle with depression, including a collapse in early June and a visit to the Mayo clinic.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) He was not in Trout's ballpark speed wise. Jr's arm was better though. I think JR on defense though was a sight even Trout doesn't match. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) The talent he has is once in a generation. He's the best five tool prospect I've ever seen in the 12 years I've followed baseball. I was only 8, but I'm imagining this has to be what watching Griffey in 89 was. -

QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) Balta works at a university, how far would you go to protect the football program? Would you go to jail for it? Does it really take destroying the football program to have you do the right thing? If I witnessed something illegal/criminal involving a football coach, and I reported it, I'd have zero reason to believe that the university would fire me. This was not the case at Penn State. That is the definition of "Creating a culture of compliance". It permeates the school. Everyone knew who was in charge, and you didn't cross that guy at Penn State. That is not an issue of Spanier, Curley, Paterno, and the other guy whose name I've forgotten. That's not even just a board issue. That's an entire school issue. Two janitors caught Sandusky raping a kid in 2001. They discussed reporting it, and then realized...it would cost them their jobs. THey chose not to report it because they could not afford to lose their jobs. This is not just the janitors at fault. That is the definition of a failed culture of accountability. You can judge those janitors if you want...but that is not a decision they should ever have to make...between their family's lives and doing the right thing. Penn State defied federal law in order to maintain their lack of accountability in the football program, failing to meet compliance reporting steps. That isn't one guy doing that, that is not just the athletic department doing that, that is something permeating the administration.

QUOTE (daggins @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) so like, he's still hurt right? He is just alllll over the place. Lately Gavin's in that frustrating Freddy Garcia mode. Terrible first innings that he causes, some bad luck, lots of baserunners, then somehow toughs through the game. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) The cities look different, but it's not a big deal. Every movie has a different feel to it. I could actually buy the cities being different, because it gave a feeling of the city recovering from the depths of the first one. The thing that bothered me a little was that the exterior city shots were just too obviously Manhattan. I mean it had One World Trades under construction! In the others you would only recognize the city if you knew the city. Like, the Sears only barely made an appearance in TDK.
-
Finally saw that. Thought it was an excellent movie. If I had to pick which was the better I'd say TDK was the best of the 3, but that's solely because of Ledger's performance being head and shoulders above the others.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) The interesting thing is that our defense cost us a run in that inning IMO Confusingly, it really didn't, because the defense wouldn't have gotten an extra out, just kept a runner at 1b. Floyd walked the next 3 batters, so unless having the guy at 1b would still have scored. DUNN WAS SAFE.
