  1. HOLY f*** A METS PITCHER THREW A NO HITTER
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) Why would we do that? Santana no hitter
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) Just read that Selig and Reinsdorf spoke with Hawk about his tirade. That's bulls***. He didn't cuss. This is a free country. That's the silliest thing you could possibly have said to defend him. He has every right to go out on the street and say whatever he wants. He doesn't have the right o make his owner look bad if his owner decides that's what happened.
  4. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) Why are you wasting my time on failed policies that never work? Your messiah is a failure. Admit it. You're right. He made te same mistake FDR made in 7, the same mistake the British made to go into a recession again, He listened to the people who wanted to pull back on spending and allow goveremt to shrink.
  5. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:55 PM) 12 Steals for Alejandro now...very nice. Back to a 75% clip.
  6. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) It's BUSH'S FAULT. Obama's been passing jobs bill for 3.5 years now... I thought the stimulus, stimulus II, stimulus III, etc. was going to work? Yea, it's everyone else's fault - including the 435-0 and 99-0 votes against the messiah's budgets. Welcome to Utopia, where everyone is equal. Mao says hi. Why are you wasting my time quoting vote totals on staged, unprocessed budgets that never pass for any President?
  7. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:35 PM) Yea, when are you sheeple going to admit your messiah is a failure? When you pass this jobs bill.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) However, as in the case of Chris Sale, let's be realistic and say a collegiate pitcher easily could be on the White Sox roster in 2012 or 2013...depending on their desire to get signed as quickly as possible with a guarantee. If the best prospect is a pitcher in high school, that would be another story. But Honel and Stumm are the only ones that come to mind. If you happen to draft a pitcher who is that MLB ready again, you count your lucky stars.
  9. I think you gave away the game when you said "If they draft well". We're drafting 29th. The odds of nailing another Gibson are pretty darn low. And once the Bulls hit luxury tax territory, it's going to be incredibly difficult to hold on to even the guys the Bulls have. Remember...if the Bulls hit luxury tax territory, the MLE that could be used to sign other guys shrinks significantly. And really, yes, Amnestying Boozer helps with the Tax issue, but it doesn't make the Bulls a better team, it leaves them back to needing scoring from their frontcourt and having no reasonable way of adding that since they're stuck at MLE level.
  10. Cool look at the Helicarrier display graphics and the Mark VII Heads Up Display.
  11. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 05:12 PM) You don't pass on a front-line starter (which is what I assume they'd view Smoral as if he's the pick) because you have Jose Quintana, Hector Santiago, and the immortal Pedro Hernandez in your system. Just take the best player available and be done with it. You also don't pass on a lefty in the draft because you have lefties in your rotation or bullpen or minor league system. If you think the lefty is the best talent on the board, take the lefty. By the time he gets to the big leagues, your rotation will look nothing like it does now.
  12. "Pass this jobs bill now".
  13. QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) i was just thinking about Jordan Danks I know not too much written but it seems that if it was just for his fielding he'd be playing in the bigs but I've noticed his strikeout rate remains unchanged high while his average is creeping up. FUkodome has been used sparingly in the lineup. Unless some injury occurs I don't see his playing time increasing. I was just wondering if under Manto's tutelage Jordan could cut down on his strikeouts and add a little power to his swing. It is not like we have a lot invested in Fukodome and RObin doesn't seem to have a lot of faith in his bat. Would it be worth it to bring up Jordan to play in our outfield and perhaps give fukodome a chance to play on some other team;Don't forget, Manto was the White Sox minor league hitting instructor until last year, so Manto has probably had to deal with D2 already.
  14. What this exercise ought to show everyone is truly how f***ed the Bulls are. They needed to make their run this year and next year. Rose's extension ($19 million or so a year) kicks in next year. The Bench mob all hits FA after next year and the Bulls are in no position to keep them. Then they're left with an expensive shell of a roster with Deng, Noah, Rose, Boozer, and no ability to get far enough under the cap to sign a difference-maker even if they amnesty Boozer and let guys like Asik from the bench mob walk. They're then too good to wind up with a decent chance in the Lottery, but not nearly good enough to make a run at the top of the East. They need someone to help them out, Gasol to LA style, or to somehow get incredibly lucky if they wind up in the lottery next year, or to do a bad contract for bad contract swap and then hope the guy they get suddenly becomes revitalized playing alongside Rose and in Thibs's system (what Orlando keeps trying to do around Howard).
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 12:53 PM) Well they are allowing mutants to marry, so whats next, a mutant human abomination wedding!?
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 11:56 AM) You won't get any disagreement from me regarding the call. But umpires are going to make bad calls; they're human. A little griping by a broadcaster is fine...the broadcasters are human too. But that doesn't mean MLB has to deal with broadcasters using this particular forum to let the entire viewing audience know their personal opinions on the competency of the umpires. The point is, there are legal actions Selig could take here. I totally agree that there are actions he "Could" take, there's just very little he'd be motivated to do over anti-umpire ranting, because acting against a team's broadcaster in a way that would strongly punish him would be a major new action from MLB, and I don' tthink they'd be willing to do that
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) No. Which is why Bud talked to Jerry and then they both talked to him and told him to avoid the crazy rants in the future. Do you think they want all these news websites playing video of a broadcaster for an MLB team screaming that their umpires are incompetent? If they don't want that, then they could have established/standard rules involving warnings being issued to both teams prior to umpires ejecting players. I know we don't hear if they discipline or talk to umpires, that's private, but if they don't want a Hawkrant, then don't give him reason to. Otherwise, you better be prepared to fine or fire him.
