  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 08:54 AM) The Bears are 4-3 against a tough schedule, have a good track record against both the Eagles and Vick, and are playing pretty good football right now. I'm trying very hard to find reasons that I shouldn't be taking the 8 points tonight and can't really find any. I think the best reason is that the chance of the Eagles blowing the Bears out seems a lot higher than the chance of the Bears blowing the Eagles out. The Bears haven't played Bears-level defense most of the season.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 08:49 AM) This is like the LeBron chase all over again. So much bad info. You have some reason to believe that progress is really happening?
  3. QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) SS2k4 ~and~ it's not in the 'buster. SS2k4 actually predates the "Filibuster".
  4. I think you just need to have them lose another hockey series and let it happen on its own.
  5. But again Y2HH...ATM fees are competitive. If I want to avoid ATM fees, I keep myself at a bank with broad access where I can avoid that fee (I actually do this). I can choose whether or not to pay that fee. If a bank charges me a fee that I judge to be too high for the service, I can use a different method of payment or move to a different bank. A fee that is hidden and mandated by the government is not competitive.
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 02:40 AM) Gotta replace Raul Ibanez somehow, amirite? With the batch of lefties they have, the injury issues to Howard, the regular injury issues to Utley, and Victorino being a FA after this season (Possibly pushing one of their youngsters to CF), Cuddyer's ability to play multiple positions, none of them great but none of them terrible and his ability to hit RH with power would both fit well there.
  7. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 11:01 PM) Chicago is too mainstream for C.J. Wilson. What on Earth does that mean?
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) It is the Durbin tax because everyone except Dick said that the consumers would end up paying more in the end, because the merchants would just pocket the difference and banks would just increase their prices somewhere else to match what they were making. So Dick Durbin is the only one who understands basic economics and competition between businesses? Or dick Durbin is the only one who doesn't realize that the entire country has become a bunch of corrupt monopolies where competition no longer has any impact on prices?
  9. Anderson Cooper does not.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 06:36 PM) The huge difference here is that USC attempted to pay players in order to gain a competetive advantage. Penn St covered up a horrific crime that had nothing to do with winning games. There should be loss of jobs, prison time for certain individuals, but it would be a shame if any player was punished by what happened here. If the person being protected was a coach...wasn't part of the motivation....keeping that guy around as a coach?
  11. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 06:09 PM) In regards to the Penn State scandal, anybody think this has USC like repercussions for us? Say, no postseason for two years? Yes, but not as severe? More severe? Frankly, I don't see how anyone can have an idea about the repercussions. If the reports are accurate, this is pretty much unprecedented for the NCAA. There could be punishment rules coming into play that have never been seen before.
  12. Giants/Patriots is the first NFL game this season to be scoreless at the half.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) I hate this move so much. My quidditch team is the last remaining Mizzou-KU rivalry, because Kansas doesn't want to continue it if we're not in our conference that we've been in for 104 years. And I hate the SEC. f***ing Texas. I don't think it's possible to write a statement that better summarizes how screwed up this conference realignment thing is. 2 schools in the middle of the country, harry potter reference, dislike at the South, and a curse placed upon Texas. I'd have lived a happier life if I'd never heard anything about conference realignment.
  14. QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 04:51 PM) Philips rivers has been just bad this year. 2nd pick 6 in the first quarter...stared down the WR the entire time, then just threw a lazy weak armed pass that was easily picked And yet the Chargers have clawed right back to make it a 4 point game.
  15. You want to start imagining me and the combination of those letters, be my guest.
  16. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 03:28 PM) seems fair to me It's an incredibly smart business move.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 03:26 PM) That is half to a third of what you said. I also added the phrase "Decent lefty".
  18. Barring a 3 score+, 4th quarter comeback, the Colts will be the only winless team in the league.
  19. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) balta, maybe if you would lead by example we wouldn't have these issues. I apologize for calling the finger-voting thing silly, I didn't figure that would get counted as name calling.
  20. An internet company has announced a new program...they will set up a system to collect and process state level tax fees for a variety of internet merchants and distributors. They will charge 2.9% of the total collected tax to process this fee for merchants, thus making themselves a profit and saving smaller merchants the headaches of dealing with multiple state tax systems. The company setting this system up to enable payment of state taxes while profiting itself? Amazon.com.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 02:42 PM) Um...I just assumed you were defending wall street?
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) Wil Ohman cost $3 million for two years. Exactly waht I said.
  23. Jets and bills a 3-0 game at the half, only points were a FG coming off a Fitz INT at the Buffalo 40. Miami up 14-3 on KC at the half. Looking for their first win and to send Luck elsewhere.
  24. Dodgers sign Juan Rivera, 1 year, $4.5 million. Defensive IF guy Josh McDonald re-ups with the D-Backs.
