  1. "Defensive potential" is a hard thing to gauge, but his defense has been somewhat below average as a CF this year.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) So I have a slightly strange situation. There is a girl I know and have been friends with for a few years. Up until recently it has always been Platonic despite me finding her attractive. Recently she's been hanging out more and I detected some signs of interest. Well Saturday night after quite a bit of drinking we did make out a bit before leaving a bar. The next morning she texted me apologizing and saying I'm her friend and that probably shouldn't have happened. I told her it was ok, I wasn't upset and I had enjoyed it. She then said we should hang out again. I had a slight history with her roommate but nothing really big in my mind. I'm wondering if that's a bit of a hang up. I'm confused as to what she wants and how to proceed. I asked her to get together to see a band at millennium park toning but she has work. Any thoughts on how to proceed or when to ask her to do something else? Does she ever ask you to do stuff? Can always wait a few days and see if she gets in touch with you.
  3. The Braves aren't ponying up for Konerko to bench Freeman.
  4. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 09:35 AM) No, just bombarded with actual traffic. More than on election days? Or normal Presidential speeches? That's hard to believe.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:33 AM) I take it you are assuming a TCQ trade? Lilli, Rios, and Dayan all are in the picture for next year for sure. Pierre is gone most likely. The Elf, Viciedo, Rios, De Aza, and Milledge isn't necessarily a terrible OF rotation, and aside from 1 guy it's really cheap.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) Seattle is who we thought they were. That's 15 in a row with a trip to Yankee Stadium looming. Pineda seems to have hit a wall, he had struggled for a few starts before as well. But other than maybe Walden, I think the ROY award is still his. This team was a .500 team when this streak started.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 01:18 AM) I'm not adverse to Kenny's on the fly rebuilding. He did it in '04 and in '07, albeit in the offseason, but both those we're good rebuilds. The 07 rebuild started right around now, when guys like Iguchi were moved to start saving money and Dye and Buehrle were extended.
  8. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 10:46 PM) Odd that this story pops up from Merkin just days before the trade deadline and the Sox reportedly talking trade with St. Louis. Buehrle's future on South Side not certain Why bring this up before the trade deadline? I think something is up. He pitched today and that gave something on topic to write about.
  9. If KW is saying he's considering a youth movement, I'm expecting the average age of this roster to increase.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) Ohhhh Alex!! That 1st pitch was CRUSHABLE! Both pitches were.
  11. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) Only that's not quite how commodities markets work. The CFPC charged people with basically that a couple months back, keeping oil off the market just to push the price up.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) Really? That's what you've got? I couldn't believe when they traded for Teahen after proclaiming Viciedo to be the next Miguel Cabrera. Especially the extension.
  13. Can't complain about that walk
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) Yeah, why would you take CEO's and banks at their word for why they aren't hiring and investing. It has to be a vast right wing conspiracy, not the words of the Democrat in office. And they're as clear as can be. They need customers. They care less about taxes and regulation than they did under the great free marketeer, they need customers.
  15. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Speculation is NOT illegal. They're not "altering" the market, speculators are merely predicting the price of oil would rise due to a subsidy kill. Keep in mind, oil companies do not and cannot set the price of oil, so most of those "altering the market" rules do not apply in this case, since we are talking about a commodity...the market itself sets the price of oil based on various variables, including availability, supply, demand, subsides, cost of transfer, etc. The subsidies are merely one of many factors prince into the cost of refinement. Taking supply off the market because you are mad about a political decision is patently illegal.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) The big difference being that Arizona brought in these guys to block Allen. Mark Teahen? Adam Dunn? Reupping Konerko?
  17. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) Buerhle still hasn't regained his rhythm after the inning our defense decided not to show up Losing games like this is pathetic For throwing garbage, 17 outs and 0 ER in 5 innings isn't bad.
  18. 2 hit day for Morel, that'll be a benching.
  19. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) Wow 1 2 3.....this team is pathetic Well it's A guy making his 2nd career start. What do you expect, 2 runs?
  20. This might be Dunns longest at bat of the year.
  21. I see Dunn get 2 strikes and expect a k on each pitch
  22. Pk14 thinks he just missed that.
  23. Boesch should have had that. (seriously autocorrect, Boesch becomes bleach?)
