  1. So, if this ever happens again, do we say that the pitcher is having "Jake Peavy" surgery?
  2. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) I believe Rios signed the contract extension in 08'. He has displayed the 5-tool ability in a few seasons but this season has just been terrifying for him and for us fans. These are his numbers after he signed his contract 2008: 15 Hr, 79 RBI, 91 Runs, .291 Avg, 32 SB 2009: 17 Hr, 71 RBI, 63 Runs, .247 Avg, 24 SB 2010: 21 Hr, 88 RBI, 89 Runs, .284 Avg, 34 SB Certainly he put up some impressive numbers aside from the 2009 which wasn't even that bad compared to how bad he has done so far. One problem is that Rios's SB %age fell off a cliff last year with the Sox. More CS's in 2010 than the previous 2 years combined.
  3. Very different shape.
  4. Those aren't bricks, they're rocks.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) He has a .360 BABIP, which is probably due to the fact he's allowed 27% line drives. In a way, that should mean he's serving up a lot of bad pitches, but his K/BB ratio and his FIP say way otherwise. His FIP this year is only .2 higher than the year he won Cy Young. That ERA of his will come down eventually. Didn't people say the exact same thing about him last season?
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) Greg = Dan Gilbert? I beat you to the reference by 5 minutes.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) Cause he's huge. Is he known for having any range at all? if he is OK, I'll eat my words. It's difficult to go from minor league stats or anything like that, but he's not, as far as I know, known to be slow. He also definitely has a shotgun for an arm, which is a nice thing to have on a guy if his range isn't the best.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) Yeah but also get ready for some butcher work in the outfield, similar to Juan, maybe even worse. You can't convince me the Tank is going to be a decent defender. Why not?
  9. Rush?
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) greg775 has spoken He'll win a world series before Lebron does as well.
  11. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) Joe West is in the house At least Mark pitched yesterday.

    QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 11:19 AM) If Tank were a part of any other organization, he would be in the majors now. I think there is a better chance of Kenny calling up Whisler than Tank. Not necessarily. Other orgs might well be trying to buy extra pre-arb years with him since he came up last year.
  13. Obviously, considering I've watched less than 1 full game of hockey in 15+ years.
  14. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) If EJax gets shelled and Hudson throws a gem PHT should probably just be on a 1 day close down I'm pondering this...
  15. Let's punch each other until we're unconscious.
  16. Prove us wrong, Edwin. You don't get a better chance.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) That will work itself out tonight Daniel Hudson is going to our bullpen? I could live with that.
  18. (Nonpartisan) GAO releases report regarding Republican claims about ACORN committing voter fraud between 2005-2009. Investigated a couple dozen cases, found that in all but 1 case the voter fraud claims were baseless. 1 case did produce charges...for voter registration fraud, where people had been registering false names to get the payments per name. Zero instances or evidence of actual fraud at the polls was found. Meanwhile, charges were filed today in an actual case of Voter Fraud, in Maryland...where the Republicans contracted with a polling firm to call up about 100,000 people (likely democratic voters) on election day and play a recorded message saying that the election was decided and their votes weren't needed. Clearly, this is systematic evidence for Democratic voter fraud.
  19. Someone needs to be bound for the Bullpen.
  20. Also worth pointing out this clause from Politico which says this current bill is unlikely to become law, since we have all the economic development we need.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) Do what you want Balta move it, delete it some people got better things to do than go thru 18 pages of posts! You don't just go to the "Last page" or the "newest post"?
  22. Just decided to resume today huh?
  23. Help us kill this thread!
  24. Really, this can't go in the other thread?
  25. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 01:19 PM) I didn't realize how staggering Viciedo's numbers have been since a relatively slow start. If you look at hitting and only hitting, there's only a few guys in the minors I'd take over him. And that's only the Bryce Harper's and Mike Trout's of the world. Wait, you're complimenting a White Sox prospect on his development and performance and rating it as a success? I thought the rapture was rescheduled to October, not June.
