  1. So, serious question for those who know better. I've been holding 20 shares of BP for the last decade that my Aunt gave me when I graduated high school. If BP goes into Chapter 11 to protect it from creditors, what typically happens to common stock shareholders? Is it worth holding those shares or should I look into dumping it and taking the $600 loss now?
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:50 AM) There's more and more accusations that BP was rushing through the job and pressuring the rig workers to cut corners. Standard operating procedure. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:50 AM) Hey Balta, please stop ruining my days. Watch the video. It's good for a laugh.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) Its not entirely about football. Or are you just being sarcastic? Half sarcasm, half cold reality.
  4. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:46 AM) I say if they trade A.J. to Texas, KW asks for Salty first, if he's turned down, then ask for Chris Davis. If all he gets back is some pitiful RHP from low A, then what a waste. The White Sox need to get position players, especially left handed power hitters, in any trade from here on out. I have zero problem with targeting RHP from low-A ball if there's a scout who really likes that person and says that in a year or two he could be a star.
  5. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:40 AM) AJ is not going anywhere... at least not right now. I don't think he'll have a problem approving a trade to a contender after his 10/5 rights kick in. Except he's at least strongly suggested that once June 13th passes "They can't trade me".
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:32 AM) I can't believe there isn't a thread in here for this - I don't even see it being discussed, which is weird. Tectonic shifts going on, BIG 12 may be a gone goose. Nebraska to Big 10, 6 schools to PAC-10, 5 schools who knows... NCAA football thread. Hell, considering the conference realignment is entirely about football, it belongs there anyway.
  7. Sigh. These are the kinds of failures that deserve to get you thrown out of office.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:56 AM) Of course kap. The capitalist, that has ruined hundreds of capitalist ventures could never be wrong, it must be the president. Hail BP, the most christian and noble of all organizations, they were just trying to make a dollar, and therefore, are closest to jesus. Hail hail hail!!! These are great.
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:25 AM) Look at the time stamp and consider where he was last night. LOL, damn Kane...
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:24 AM) You don't trade a veteran in a down year, to start another verteran in a down year, Flowers will start and Castro will either follow A.J. out or continue catching once a week. Castro has, throughout his career, been a pretty good option as a RH platoon/backup catcher. You really don't ask for more than a .750 ish OPS from those guys, and he's reliably given teams that. What teams are out there that are missing a solid backup C or missing a RH C?
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:25 AM) Going to be real interesting to see how the loss of schollie's will be divided up. In a few years, USC might be where Alabama was a few years back and where Miami was in the mid to late 90s. 20 scholarships too. Enjoy, Kiffin.
  12. I still like how there's about 5 seconds where Kane knew he'd won the Stanley Cup and no one else in the world did.
  13. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:02 AM) Buehrle and Lillibridge. Vizquel?
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 12:52 AM) I told you Flowers would be fine in the power department. My big worry about Flowers is...fine is not good enough in the power department if you strike out 200 times. You need to be awesome.
  15. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 07:23 AM) What's the word on Salty besides the fact that he can't throw the ball back to the pitcher? How's his hitting? His minor league numbers have progressively worsened since he put up a 1.022 OPS in 2007 in AA for the Braves. Currently he's sporting a .774 OPS for the Rangers AAA team. He's a revival project at the least.
  16. Shame we couldn't do that on Hawk night.
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:14 PM) lol Philly fans are such douches in any sport. I wouldn't mind them booing the commish.
  18. Congrats to the legit Hawks fans.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:04 PM) In Chicago? I wonder why the cop let the kid pick up the rock before he started shooting. This is Daley's town afterall. Only if they're hippies.
  20. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) was lillibridge's inside the park?? Nope. Fly ball to CF. First pitch too.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 10:58 PM) Not gonna lie. I may of flogged the dolphin to here recently. Now THAT is a creepy typo.
