  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:37 PM) KW went after Matsui, Johnson, Damon and was shot down by Ozzie on Thome. I don't put the burden of the blame on him. If KW had gotten any of those guys...wouldn't we still have found a way to hit .160 our first series? Didn't we all just know it was coming?
  2. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:35 PM) I guess we'll see, but I think it gets lit up this year. Now granted, they play against three pretty bad offenses in their division, but I bet out of division numbers end up being pretty bad I don't think they're the best in the league, but Weaver, Kazmir, Saunders, Santana, Pinero...depending on injury that should be a top 5 rotation in the league.
  3. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) The angels staff sucks. Really? Frankly, I disagree.
  4. The Twins announcers are making fun of Hawk, Stone, DJ, and Farmer for having their windows closed.
  5. Good work D1, I think Beckham needed the fielding drills.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:27 PM) Looks like Liriano still gets that left elbow up pretty high on delivery - wasn't that the problem before? Yeah...but that's also why he was so good. It lets him get crazy movement on that Slider...like the pitch Konerko k'd on.
  7. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) That would be gross. And I'll guarantee you it's been tried before.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) I'm really tired of seeing federal judges get nominated. Pick someone else this time please. The media will always speculate about why they don't nominate someone who's not a judge. Then, you nominate a political figure from somewhere, and you get hammered for nominating a politician. Of course, you could just nominate someone who's totally 100% unqualified. We haven't seen that in a couple years.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:01 PM) The more I watch Pierrre, the more I want to follow Jordan Danks. He's 2-2 tonight. It's all about the strikeouts. If he gets the strikeouts down by say, 25%...he'll be a dominant MLB hitter.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) Apparently the Indians pitching staff isn't so dominating after all. How the hell did that staff make us hit .158?
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) They're 3-1, hitting really well, and they made one terrible play. Not sure we can make judgements here Twins are hitting 2.25 HR/game so far this season. And that's against the Angels pitching staff.
  12. I will say...Santos L. Halper looked damn fine last night. Good heat, lots of movement.
  13. Somebody wanna tell me that actually just really did happen and I'm not asleep?
  14. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) No Mauer tonight according to David Schuster of 670 Reason?
  15. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 05:51 PM) Did you save any of the puke? You could bring it to him as proof. You don't think that there are students that would make themselves vomit in order to provide the evidence to get out of a test if they weren't ready to take it?
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 05:10 PM) Should I try to get over my current hatred of Jones being on our team? We'll see. Best we can say for now.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) Lexi needs to get his act together better in April. How'd he hit in the spring? Our professional hitters need to get a clue and drill the ball where it is pitched like most playoff caliber teams do. Alexei was 18/69 in ST for a .261 average. 1 2b, 5/6 on stolen bases.
  18. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 05:01 PM) Really? Our third string catcher bothers you that much? He's probably actually 4th string, we just don't want to start the arbitration clock on the 3rd string guy.
  19. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) 8 (since Vizquel switch hits) isn't close enough for ya? I was shocked he's letting Pierre still bat since he's left-handed. Dude hits both RHP and LHP well over his career (average wise) so it's nice to see Ozzie wising up. On this one, I actually agree with the Hawk...that "9 righty" lineup that Ozzie always trotted out against Santana and to a lesser extent pre-injury Liriano just let the LHP get into a grove because he never had to face a guy on the other side of the plate.
  20. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) About him being in great shape going into the 2009 season? Yeah. But he's been a mental basketcase since the 2007 season. And it was said about him going into 2007 also.
  21. The "Lamar" billboard company is taking Conan's tweets and putting them up on some of their digital billboards.
  22. Senator Sessions, perhaps suggesting that ACA repeal will be an issue during the confirmation hearings.
  23. At least Ozzie didn't trot out a 9 righties lineup.
  24. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Jones seems like he's somewhat got it together from a mental standpoint, and he's in great shape. You could not say the same about his overall state of physical and mental wel being when discussing those previous 1200+ plate appearances. Actually, those same things were said about Jones a couple of times the past few years.
